However, there’s one fan-favorite actor who’s still missing from the roster: Ryan Gosling. The Golden Globe winner in 2017 has been one of fans' most requested faces in the MCU, but so far he has shown no interest in joining the team.

However, if the latest report is true, then it’s only a matter of time before Gosling joins the superhero squad of the MCU. If so, which role will he play in the MCU? When will the actor make his debut? Let’s find out through this article.

According to scooper Daniel Ritchman, aka DanielRPK, Ryan Gosling recently had an appointment with Marvel’s head, Kevin Feige, to discuss about a potential role in the MCU. The actor has been linked with the expansive cinematic universe for a long time, and was a strong candidate to play Doctor Strange alongside Benedict Cumberbatch.

Daniel Ritchman stated that Gosling is currently in talks with Marvel for an unknown role, so we don’t know which character the actor is negotiating for just yet. The Barbie star also recently ended his deal with Universal and Blumhouse’s Wolf Man, and fans believed that he’s listening to Marvel’s call. Here are some roles that Gosling can take in the MCU.

#2. Ryan Gosling Wants To Play Ghost Rider Personally

While Gosling rarely displays his interest in playing a Marvel superhero in public, on numerous occasions, the actor expressed his desire to play Ghost Rider. The Spirit of Vengeance hasn’t appeared in the MCU just yet, and Avengers: Secret Wars could be a perfect chance to introduce him into the scene.

#3. Nova Is Another Strong Contender For Gosling

Gosling may want to play Ghost Rider in the MCU, but apparently Marvel Studios has other plans for him. It is rumored that Marvel wants Gosling for the role of Nova, a cosmic superhero who works under the Nova Corps. The project was confirmed back in March 2022, but there have been very few updates ever since.

Besides, Gosling, other talented actors such as Glen Powell and Miles Teller also have been linked to the role. The appearance of Nova in the MCU will also help us discover the fate of the Nova Corps, who were presumably wiped out by Thanos before Avengers: Infinity War on his conquest to retrieve the Power Stone.

#4. Gosling Used To Be A Candidate For The Role Of Reed Richards

In the past months, the Internet has been speculating about who will play Mister Fantastic in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie in the MCU. Many renowned actors have been linked to the role, including John Krasinski, Adam Driver, Penn Badgley, and of course, Ryan Gosling himself.

However, all rumors currently point toward Pedro Pascal as the most prominent contender, as he’s also in talks with Marvel for a potential MCU debut.

#5. Can Ryan Gosling Be The New Kang The Conqueror?

As we all know, Marvel recently parted ways with Jonathan Majors after he was found guilty of assault and harassment in the latest trial. With the role of Kang left vacant, many fans expect the studio to recast the villain rather than remove him and introduce a new bad guy.

Gosling is once again nominated by fans to be the MCU’s new Kang, alongside other names such as John Boyega or Regé-Jean Page. However, it’s still unsure how Marvel will deal with Kang onward, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
