Ads are an important way for us to generate the revenue required to run the website and as such if you run Ad Blockers we would like to ask you to consider turning them off for our site. Below we have stated our advertising policy and a long term strategy, we’d welcome any feedback on it.

We recognise that there are certain adverts that can annoy and disrupt. Some of these we have an absolute ban on and others we have strict limitations on. We are constantly monitoring and tweaking our delivery so if you see an offensive ad or feel we should adjust our policies please contact us

We do not run:

• Auto-play videos
• Pop-ups
• pop-unders
• Sliders
• Contextual in text links

Strictly limited

We do run full page takeovers, but each has to be from a relevant advertiser, high quality and have a clear ‘X’ to exit. These are run on a strictly limited basis per user, currently 1 per day maximum.

Block list

HITC also runs a ‘block list’ policy for ads, and does not run adult, health, diet or money lending advertisements.
