4 Ways Marvel Can Ditch Kang The Conqueror Out Of The MCU Seamlessly

As Jonathan Majors was declared guilty of two different charges in the latest trial on December 18, Marvel Studios almost immediately decided to part ways with the actor. The announcement was made just hours after the trial, leaving fans in shock and bewildered.
With Majors out of the picture, the fate of his MCU character, Kang the Conqueror, remains in doubt. Kang was originally built to be the next big bad villain in Phase 5 and 6 of the MCU saga, but after the incident, Marvel has only two choices left: they can either recast Kang with a new actor, or ditch the villain and introduce a new one instead.
And in case Marvel wants to remove Kang once and for all, there are several ways to do so without altering the Multiverse Saga storyline too much. Let’s take a look at them, and see which path the studio will choose to get rid of the Conqueror.

#1. Marvel Can Introduce Doctor Doom Into The Scene

Ever since Jonathan Majors got arrested in March, fans have been suggesting that Marvel should replace him with Doctor Doom, another overpowered Marvel supervillain. And as the studio just parted ways with Majors recently, this theory is even more plausible than ever.
With his power level, Victor Von Doom has what it takes to defeat the entire Council of Kangs. Marvel could let him (and/or his variants) kill the council off-screen, and then introduce him to the MCU as a threat even bigger than the Conqueror himself. Besides, Doctor Doom is a key character in the Secret Wars comic storyline, so having him in the game would be crucial for the titular 2027 Avengers movie.

#2. The TVA Successfully Blocks Out Every Kang Variant

You might not notice, but Loki Season 2’s ending already hinted at a way to stop the Council of Kangs once and for all. As Loki is now stuck in the Sacred Timeline forever, the TVA has changed its main goal to look out and keep every Kang variant in check. As Loki is maintaining the Multiverse now, surely the Council of Kangs can’t roam around freely as they used to.
Assuming that the TVA can successfully protect the Multiverse from the Council of Kangs, the villains won’t be a major threat to the Multiverse anymore.

#3. Galactus Is Another Potential Candidate To Defeat The Council Of Kangs

Besides Victor Von Doom, Galactus is another Marvel supervillain who has enough powers to wipe out the Council of Kangs. Rivaling the Celestials in terms of size and powers, Galactus is a gigantic intergalactic being who can devour planets to keep his hunger at bay. He definitely is strong enough to take on the Council of Kangs, if not obliterate them.
Besides, the cosmic being usually has at least one Herald to keep him company, and each of them is at least Avenger-threat-level powerful (The Silver Surfer for example). Galactus is rumored to be the main villain in MCU’s Fantastic Four, which is set to release on May 2, 2025, so it’s a perfect chance to make him a Kang’s replacement.

#4. Marvel Can Focus On The Multiverse’s Incursions Instead

The concept of incursion was first introduced in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where constant multiversal traveling can cause one or more universes to be corroded or destroyed. As a time and space traveler himself, Kang is one of the main culprits for incursions happening in Marvel’s Multiverse.
Rather than focusing on the villain and the Council of Kangs, future MCU movies can see the Avengers trying to clean up their mess, by traveling to the Dark Dimension just like Strange and Clea did. Here, they can meet multiple dangerous villains, including Dormammu.
Do you think Marvel will try to get rid of Kang instead of getting him recast? And if so, which method would they use? Share your thoughts in the comments.
