10 Actors Who Can Replace Jonathan Majors As Kang The Conqueror

The shocking assault allegations of Jonathan Majors have finally reached their conclusion, as the jury found him guilty of physical assault and harassment in the latest trial. Following the decision, Marvel Studios also announced that they have parted ways with Majors not long after, leaving Kang the Conqueror and his variants’ fate hanging by a thread.
As of now, the studio has two viable options: they can either rewrite the whole Phase 5 storyline by replacing Kang with another villain, or just simply recast the role. In case they choose the latter, which Hollywood actor has what it takes to portray one of the best Marvel villains in history? Let’s find out through these articles.

#1. John Boyega (Star Wars Franchise)

Ever since Jonathan Majors was arrested in March, Boyega has already been linked with the role of Kang as a potential replacement. Fans believe Boyega is the perfect candidate to play Kang, as he’s still relatively young, and already starred in a big action franchise in Star Wars. The only downside is that the actor doesn’t seem that interested in joining the MCU.

#2. Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton)

Regé-Jean Page’s name rose to fame with his breakout role as Simon in Netflix’s Bridgerton, landing him many more significant roles in Hollywood. The British performer definitely has the look and the charm to play Kang, and given Marvel’s reputation as a perfect launchpad for rising stars, Page should definitely have a place on this list.

#3. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman)

Abdul-Mateen II is no stranger to playing a villain in a superhero movie, having portrayed Black Manta in 2018 Aquaman. The actor will also reprise the role as the DC villain in the upcoming sequel: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However, in the MCU, Abdul-Mateen II can have a much more important role by playing Nathaniel Richards.

#4. Aldis Hodge (Black Adam)

Aldis Hodge is another DCEU actor who makes it to this list besides Abdul-Mateen II. The 1986-born actor is best known for his role as Hawkman in the 2022 movie Black Adam, and has impressed the audience ever since. Hodge has the look to play Kang, and he’s quite familiar with the superhero genre as well.

#5. Jordan Peele (Get Out)

Best known for his comedy gigs in Kay and Peele, now Jordan Peele is a renowned director of the psychological horror genre, with masterpieces such as Get Out, Us and Nope. His versatility in acting is widely appreciated by the audience, and he can totally play a more serious role in Kang if possible. However, as Peele is busy with his own movie projects, it’s hard to see him joining the MCU any time soon.

#6. Lakeith Stanfield (Judas and the Black Messiah)

Lakeith Stanfield is highly rated for his nuanced and humane acting chops. He’s best known for his appearances in Judas and the Black Messiah, Get Out, and Atlanta, with the first one earning him an Academy Award nomination. The actor could bring us a brand-new version of Kang, who’s more relatable and empathetic.

#7. John David Washington (Tenet)

David Washington is no stranger to action movies, and playing Kang the Conqueror and his variants could be a great chance for him to showcase his acting chops. Best known for his role as the unnamed Protagonist in Tenet, and his versatility in acting can be put to the test in the MCU.

#8. Will Smith (Men In Black)

There’s not much needed to say about Will Smith, one of the most prominent actors in the last two decades. Having played a wide variety of roles, from action movies such as I Am Legend or Men In Black, to biographical drama like King Richards, the actor’s versatility is unmatched. Will Smith’s presence in the MCU could help restore the franchise to its golden era status, especially if the actor gets to play the infamous Kang the Conqueror.

#9. Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things)

While McLaughlin is a tad bit too young to play Kang, there’s no denying that he’s an incredibly talented actor. Many Marvel fans suggest that the Stranger Things star could play Iron Lad, a younger variant of Kang the Conqueror, and then resume the role of Kang when he gets older.

#10. Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3)

Now, we all know that Iwuji is already in the MCU, nailing the role of the High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. However, some theories suggest that the High Evolutionary could be a Kang variant, and it’s a perfect chance to bring back the beloved Iwuji after Jonathan Majors is gone. This scenario may seem a bit too ambitious, but who knows?
