Will Arnett and girlfriend Alessandra have both experienced divorce, which can be a painful and challenging process. Will was married to actress Penelope Ann Miller for one year in the 90s, and then to comedian Amy Poehler for nine years until 2016. Alessandra was married to Jon Neidich, a restaurateur, until 2018. They both know what it takes to make a marriage work, and what can go wrong, which explains the cold feet for both going from “Will Arnett’s ‘girlfriend’ to ‘wife.’

Will Arnett opened up about his divorce from Amy Poehler in an interview with The Guardian in 2022. He said that he “cried for an hour” in his car during the “excruciating” process and that he felt like he had “failed” as a husband and a father:

“[...] And I just burst into tears. I just cried for an hour. I couldn’t stop. And then I realized how deep I was in it. And that was really the beginning of the process for me.”

Will and Alessandra are both devoted parents to their children from previous relationships, as well as their son together. The couple has four children: Will has two sons, Abel and Archie, with Amy Poehler, and Alessandra has a son, Nash, with Jon Neidich. They welcomed their first child together, Alexander "Denny" Denison, in May 2020. 

The couple co-parent their children with their respective exes,, and they support each other in raising their kids. Will Arnett talked about how he and Alessandra Brawn co-parent their children with their exes in an interview with People in 2020.

“She’s a wonderful, wonderful mom. She’s very attentive, very loving, very caring, and I’m just so proud of her. She’s really handled this well, and she’s such a great example for our boys."

Despite both Will and Alessandra working under intense spotlight (Will Arnett is a renowned voice actor, and Alessandra is one of New York's top socialites), they are not the type of couple who flaunt their relationship on social media or in the press. Unlike other Hollywood couples, they prefer to keep their romance private and out of the spotlight. 

The ultra-private couple went public with their relationship at the 2019 Creative Arts Emmys, but they have made very few public appearances since then. Will is 51 years old, while Alessandra is 35 years old. That means there is a 16-year age gap between them. Why? Because Will joked that he wanted to name him after his favorite restaurant chain, Denny's. Alessandra agreed to go along with it, as long as they gave him a proper first name too. They both thought it was funny and cute, and it shows how they don't take themselves too seriously.

Alessandra Brawn and Will Arnett both entered their relationship with prior marriages, bringing along a few precious bundles of joy.
