This Rescue Dog With The Vampire Smile Enjoys Nibbling On His Family

Bre Burger and her wife Amanda have a soft spot for special needs dogs, having adopted several pups with disabilities over the past eight years. But a few months ago, the loving couple was scrolling through social media and instantly froze when they saw a tiny dog with a vampire-like set of teeth.

Initially fostered by a friend, Marv was looking for a forever home, and when no one stepped forward, the Burgers felt a deep connection and decided to make him a permanent part of their family.

“I couldn’t stop worrying about who he would end up with, like he was already ours, so he just needed to be ours—that was the only way to ensure he got the best life he deserved,” Burger said. “I knew the level of care he would need and that most people wouldn’t give him that.”

Despite these challenges, the Burgers have embraced them and found creative ways to address his specific needs. They use a plastic syringe to provide water since Marv's tongue can't reach the bowl, and mealtime involves a special setup with towels, a bib, and spoon-feeding.

Known to nibble on his favorite people affectionately, Marv expresses his love uniquely.“He communicates very uniquely!” Burger said. “His way of showing me love is to nibble on my fingers very gently.”

His distinctive appearance, with front arms that automatically cross, adds to his distinguished charm.
