The show's dark storyline, where 456 debt-ridden individuals compete in deadly children's games for a £28 million prize, captured audiences' hearts. With an unforgettable cast and an enigmatic ending, Squid Game has left fans clamoring for more as they await news of its second season.

And now, after two years of waiting, fans can finally watch Squid Game season 2 on Netflix. Let's see what's up with it!

Squid Game Season 2 Is Here: Where Can You Watch?

The highly anticipated season two is now debuting on November 22 on Netflix. It is officially called Squid Game: The Challenge. Netflix is still the exclusive distributor of the series and the only way you can watch it worldwide is to become a subscriber.

FYI, it's not another harrowing chapter of the chilling survival drama depicting contestants getting killed in a bloody secret contest filled with macabre children's games. This installation is a 10-episode reality series featuring 456 real contestants playing the same children's games for a cash prize of $4.56 million. Therefore, no blood, and obviously, no one dies.

The first five episodes are about to be featured on Netflix on the 22nd, and then they will drop four more episodes on Nov. 29 and the finale on Dec. 6

Back in January 2021, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos shared insights into the future of Squid Game, envisioning a broader "Squid Game Universe." This universe could encompass live experiences, merchandise, and even mobile gaming. Sarandos expressed, "The Squid Game universe has just begun," emphasizing their efforts in consumer products like the iconic Squid Game tracksuits and expanding into immersive mobile experiences.

"Squid Game" became a global phenomenon, earning Netflix's most-watched series status, with 14 Emmy nominations and six wins, including best lead actor for Lee Jung-jae.

Despite a significant gap before Season 2, Netflix introduced the reality series "The Challenge" based on the "Squid Game" premise. The United Kingdom's Studio Lambert, known for shows like "The Circle" and "Race Across the World," was enlisted for this venture.

According to Stephen Lambert, an executive producer of "The Challenge," "Squid Game" not only captivated audiences as a scripted show but also created a premise suitable for a real-life competition. The entire "Squid Game" set was meticulously recreated on six large stages in London, hosting 456 primarily British and American contestants, including a mother-son duo.

These participants fully immersed themselves in the "Squid Game" world for 16 days, complete with assigned numbers and green tracksuits, living in giant dorms with stacked bunk beds. "It's a very immersive world that people genuinely didn't leave," mentions executive producer Tim Harcourt. "People showered, used the restrooms, and ate there. They really have their heads in the game."
