Squid Game Season 2 does not have an official release date.

Netflix shared official photos from the first cast table read for Season 2 on June 28, which occurred earlier in the week. However, since production is scheduled to kick off later this year, we shouldn't expect the new episodes to be ready until 2024. So, "Patience" will be the name of the game for Squid Game fans.

Netflix has dropped some exciting updates about Squid Game Season 2. They recently unveiled the complete cast for the upcoming season, adding eight new faces to the mix (check out the Cast section for details). Even more thrilling, fans can look forward to production kicking off later in 2023, promising another round of suspense and thrills.

In October 2021, he mentioned a desire to delve into the backstories of supporting characters like the Front Man, the Salesman, and even the mysterious man with the ddakji game [a Korean game] in his bag.

Hwang hinted that the Front Man has an unexplained past and a connection to detective Jun-ho, his younger brother. Policing issues might also come into play, as Hwang suggested exploring the challenges faced by law enforcement.

These teases have left fans eagerly anticipating the second season, which promises to unravel more mysteries and stories from the Squid Game universe.

In Season 1 of Squid Game, many of our beloved characters met unfortunate ends. One of those original cast members is breakout star Jung Ho-yeon, who played North Korea defector Kang Sae-byeok in season 1. The familiar faces include Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man and Wi Ha-jun as Hwang Jun-ho, which is quite a surprise considering Jun-ho's dramatic fall in the previous season. Gong Yoo, who had brief appearances in Season 1, is also making a return, much to the delight of Squid Game fans.

But the video also brings fresh blood into the mix, with Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun all pushing the ominous green button, signifying their entry into the games. We're eagerly awaiting details about their characters.
