Shelter Dog 'Best Friends' Happily Enjoy Their Last Outing Together

Shelter might not be the ideal place for animals to spend their entire lives, but there are two pit bull terrier pals who decided to try their best and make life as wonderful as possible when they are here. Meet Moon Pie and Clipper, a couple of besties who are both two years old.

These buddies have been sticking together from the moment they entered the Lifeline Animal Project in Atlanta, Georgia. And their relationship is just so amazing that recently, Connor Abdo, an animal welfare advocate, decided to treat these "best friends" to a special day on November 5th.

"The shelter is a very stressful environment for the dogs so having a friend is really helpful," Abdo said.

In the video, you can see the joy on the dogs' faces as they ride in the back of Abdo's car, smiling and greeting everyone they meet. Unlike their seemingly tough appearance, Moon Pie and Clipper are very friendly instead.

"They are the definition of you can't judge a book by its cover,” Abdo shared. “They are both big softies who love kisses, other dogs, and playing."

From making friends with strangers to enjoying a special dog treat called a puppuccino, Moon Pie and Clipper definitely had the best time of their lives. Later, Abdo shared their exciting day on TikTok, and everyone was melted by these two lovely furry friends. Quickly, the heartwarming video has over 6,000 views and 1,000 likes, with all comments praising the lovely best friends and Abdo’s wonderful idea.

“They seem so well behaved!” said one person.

“I'm a volunteer and I do this for all the long term dogs at a local shelter. They needed that much needed break from the shelter. So thank you!!!” shared another.

However, it was a bit sad because this was the last time Clipper could play with Moon Pie. Why? Because Clipper got adopted, according to the shelter’s update one day later.

"It's sad for Moon Pie that his friend is gone, but we're sure he'll find a family soon," said Abdo.

But, hey, get ready for a big smile! Because just five days after Clipper's goodbye party, Moon Pie got adopted too!

Now, they're both in new homes, probably enjoying tons of treats and belly rubs. And even though they're not side by side anymore, here's hoping Clipper and Moon Pie have the best time ever with their new families. Let's raise a paw for new beginnings!
