Meet Oscar, Adorable Cat Who Becomes The Most Extraordinary Staff At Supermarket

Meet Oscar, the charming tabby cat with a heart as big as his paw prints, making a difference in the daily shopping of customers at his local supermarket in Stowmarket, Suffolk, England.

Oscar is not your typical feline; he has a special role as Tesco's unofficial mascot. His daily routine involves everything from warming up shopping carts to double-checking customers’ orders. The shoppers adore him, and even though Oscar seems oblivious to the joy he brings, his presence lights up the store.

“I finally spotted Oscar!” Donna Fisk wrote in a comment on Oscar’s Facebook page. “So many [people were] smiling when they saw him … he, however, was completely oblivious.”

The supermarket isn't the only place Oscar calls home. Despite having a busy work schedule, Oscar always returns home and finds time to relax with his loving mom, Slyvie Nolan, and his furry siblings. In the end, even dedicated workers need some downtime, and this little cat is such a typical employee, don’t you agree?

Oscar's Tesco adventures began when he was just a year old, following Nolan and the dogs on their walks. “‘He’s been doing this since he was about [1 year old],’” Nolan said in an interview. “When I took the dogs for a walk, he would always [follow us to] Tesco.”

Since then, he's taken his role as Tesco's lead mascot seriously, engaging with customers to improve their shopping experience. “He was there earlier and was very interested in our shopping,” Nathan Tupper wrote in a Facebook comment.

Even on the busiest days, Oscar knows the importance of a good lunch break and a cat nap. These moments of rest help him recharge for the rest of his shift and allow him to continue spreading joy to everyone he meets.

As much as Oscar loves being Tesco's volunteer mascot, he has one true calling that can pull him away from his job – food and cuddles from his adoring family. After a hard day's work, Oscar heads home, knowing he's made a positive impact on everyone he encountered during his shift.

“Once I’ve finished my shift … I walk home for food and cuddles from my mummy and daddy,” Oscar’s family wrote on his Facebook.
