Season 2. In the critically acclaimed TV series, the God of Mischief decides to become the God of Stories, thus sacrificing his freedom to hold the expanding Multiverse together for an eternity. By doing so, he saves all of his friends and the entire Multiverse, and “giving them a chance” to live their lives, as Sylvie said.
Besides, if you notice hard enough, near the end of Episode 6, Loki also repeats an iconic line he used to say 12 years ago in the first Thor movie. However, in this specific scenario, this 12-year-old line hits way harder than before. So, what did the God of Stories say? Let’s find out.
#1. Loki’s Glorious Ending In Season 2 Shocks Us All

With his newfound time-slipping ability, Loki spends decades, even centuries, trying to fix the Temporal Loom, now overloaded with the branching Multiverse. He even tries returning to the past and stopping Sylvie from killing He Who Remains, but to no avail. The only way left for him is to kill Sylvie, and it’s obviously what the Asgardian Prince cannot do.
Finally, after years and years of trying to fix the problem, Loki realizes that the Temporal Loom cannot be saved. Someone needs to step in there to directly control all the different timelines and so far, he’s the only one who can do it.
#2. What Did Loki Say In The End?

Before stepping into the Temporal Loom, Loki turns around and bids farewell to his friends. He also says this one line: "I know what kind of God I need to be. For you. For all of us," in a calm and saddening tone.
Marvel fans immediately realize that the last two sentences are a carbon copy of what the God of Mischief said 12 years earlier in Thor (2011). After his attempt to destroy Jotumheim was squandered by Thor, Loki screamed to Odin in desperation: "I could have done it, father! For you! For all of us!"

Besides “For you! For all of us!”, Marvel Studios also makes a nod back to Loki’s appearance in The Avengers (2012) by naming Episode 6 “Glorious Purpose”. When the Asgardian Prince made his entrance in The Avengers, he said: “I’m Loki, and I’m burdened with glorious purpose.”
Therefore, it’s great to see Loki Season 2 references this quote again, as it further shows how much Loki has changed throughout the years, and finally finds his true “glorious purpose”.
#5. Will Loki Return To The MCU Again?

With Loki Season 2’s ending, many believe this is the end of the road for the God of Stories, as now he has found his true purpose, and has to spend the rest of his time controlling the expanding Multiverse. The actor, Tom Hiddleston, also hinted that his MCU endeavor is over by stating how Loki Seasib 2 has perfectly wrapped up his 12-year-old adventure.
However, the actor recently clarified what he said earlier, stating that Loki is “a character who is engaged with ideas of belonging, ideas of identity, ideas of purpose”. This makes Loki’s fate in future MCU Movies sound even more ambiguous.
