One of the most unique and intriguing things about MCU’s Spider-Man franchise compared to previous entries, is that it makes full use of the MCU’s expansive lineup, and gets Tom Holland’s Spidey to team up with some of the most iconic Avengers ever. In the first movie, he is under Tony Stark’s care, works with Nick Fury in the second, and has a run-in with Doctor Strange and two other Spider-Man variants in the third.
Therefore, Marvel fans are hoping that the studio will continue the trend for the fourth movie, and they are all excited to see which MCU superhero The Wall-Crawler will end up with this time. After Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, several new superheroes and villains have been introduced to the MCU, so let’s see who deserves to be Peter Parker’s new dynamic duo.
#1. Wade Wilson/Deadpool
Obviously, the Merc with a Mouth is one of the characters that fans want Tom Holland’s Spidey to meet the most. While the two’s way of thinking and concept of justice are vastly different and often clash with each other, an encounter between Spider-Man and Deadpool is expected to be full of witty banters, jokes, and breaking-the-fourth-wall moments.
In the comics, both Peter Parker and Wade Wilson have met multiple times, and mesmerized fans with their dynamic and fun interactions. Therefore, fans want to see the same happen in the MCU, where Tom Holland and Ryan Reynolds’ comedic nature will get the chance to shine.
#2. Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel
Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel is quickly becoming a fan-favorite character, as the actress fits the role perfectly. And now, with Kamala finally joining the MCU, fans can expect to see the dynamic interactions between the two on the big screen. As the two are roughly the same age, Peter Parker and Kamala Khan waste no time being friends with each other, and their conversations are always amusing to fans.
Especially, now that Vellani’s Kamala is planning to form the Young Avengers, she could invite Peter to join the team, though he’s not in the comics lineup. Now that Peter is forgotten by everyone else, he badly needs a new ally and friend to rely on, and Ms. Marvel could possibly be the one.
#3. Johnny Storm/Human Torch
The Fantastic Four haven’t been introduced into the MCU just yet (bar a Multiverse variant of Reed Richards), but it’s only a matter of time before fans get to see the team. Especially, we might get to see the bromance between Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm and Peter Parker on the big screen soon.
In the comics, the two superheroes are best of friends, as Johnny even asks Peter to join the squad and the Future Foundation. A similar relationship could be developed in the MCU, as Tom Holland’s Peter is desperate for a new ally right now. The two’s comical banters are another thing to look forward to as well.
#4. Matt Murdock/Daredevil
Much like Spider-Man, Daredevil is also a street-level superhero who protects New York while donning another persona in public, and the two have met various times in the comics as well. In fact, they’ve already met in the MCU, when Murdock becomes Peter’s lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home and catches stray debris barehanded.
However, this relationship isn’t explored further in the movie, since Peter is forgotten by everyone at the end. A potential Spider-Man 4 movie could see Peter coming to Murdock to find help, and somehow discovering his superhero alias in the process. A combination of Spidey’s arachnid abilities and Daredevil’s martial arts in theaters could be a spectacular sight for fans as well.
#5. Luke Cage
Much like Daredevil, Luke Cage is another street-level New York superhero who could turn out to be Spider-Man’s best ally. In the comics, the hero was hired by the Daily Bugle to investigate Norman Osborn’s “death” and find Spider-Man. The two, of course, become friends afterward and fight crimes together on multiple occasions.
A similar story could happen in the MCU, as Holland’s Peter is now resuming his secretive Wall-Crawler identity. A battle where Spider-Man’s agility combines with Luke Cage’s raw strange is also a sight to behold for the Marvel community.
#6. Scott Lang/Ant-Man
Besides Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man is also linked to a potential role in Spider-Man 4, should the movie happen in the future. Rudd recently concluded his Ant-Man trilogy in 2023, and while the character is still playing a big part in the MCU, it remains in doubt whether Marvel will make a fourth movie.
As Scott Lang may move to the backstage and give the spotlight to his daughter, Cassie Lang, he might play more of a mentor role in the MCU’s future movies. Therefore, it makes sense for Lang to appear in Spider-Man 4, where he can act as Peter’s mentor and teach the latter about quantum physics. A team-up between the two heroes is also what fans want to see, given their unorthodox abilities.
#7. Wilson Fisk/Kingpin
It is reported that after the Multiverse bonanza in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel is looking to make a more street-level-themed movie in Spider-Man 4, with the Web-Slinger fighting more grounded villains. And who can be more worthy to be Spidey’s new villain than the infamous Kingpin himself?
Wilson Fisk has always been one of Spider-Man’s most iconic arch-nemesis in the comics, and fans want to see the same in the MCU. Wilson Fisk already made his MCU appearance in the Hawkeye TV series, and the studio should waste no time introducing the villain to the fray. With his strength and sinister mind, Kingpin could prove to be a real hassle for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.
#8. Doctor Strange
Since Strange is the one who casts the forgetting spell on Peter Parker, he might be the only one who has the power to undo it. Spider-Man 4 could see the two team up again, science and magic, to fight a greater evil, and Strange can somehow find a way to undo the spell on Peter without leaving any consequences this time.
However, as Strange is currently busy traveling the Dark Dimension with Clea to fix any potential Incursion, this scenario is unlikely to happen.
#9. Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers and Peter Parker have quite an interesting relationship in the comics, as the two even dated for a while before returning to being friends. The ending of The Marvels sees Danvers flying to Hala to restore its sun, and as she returns to Earth, she might encounter Peter Parker again. As she wasn’t on Earth when Strange cast the spell, Captain Marvel might still remember who Peter is.
While the two have shown some promising dynamics in the past, it’s unlikely that they will develop a romantic relationship in the future. In The Marvels, it’s revealed that Carol Danvers is married to Park Seo-Joon's Prince Yan, after all.
#10. Marc Gargan/Scorpion
Back in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Marc Gargan was introduced as a potential business partner will Michael Keaton’s Vulture. However, their plan was intercepted by the Wall-Crawler, and Gargan was later seen in jail. Marvel’s Spider-Man 4 can be a perfect chance to finally introduce Gargan as Scorpion, an iconic Spidey villain in the comics.
