Deadpool 3 Release Date: Plot, Cast, Taylor Swift, And Everything Else

The current release date of Deadpool 4 is May 4, 2024. Previously, the initial release date was November 8 2024, so this is generally good news for Marvel enthusiasts. This is possibly due to other MCU projects getting delayed because of the SAG-AFTRA strikes, so Marvel must push forward the movie. 

Deadpool will be a part of the MCU Phase 5, and is expected to be released between The Marvels (November 2023) and Captain America: Brace New World (February 14, 2025).

As expected, the cast of Deadpool 3 is stacked, with the appearance of Ryan Reynolds and multiple Hollywood stars. Hugh Jackman, best known for his Wolverine role in Fox’s X-Men franchise, is confirmed to reprise his role in the upcoming title in the MCU. Jackman seemingly retired from the role after Logan (2017), so fans were jubilant to hear he’s playing the mutant again.

This comes as huge news for Marvel fans, as Jackman’s appearance will help introduce the X-Men squad to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This means, other renowned mutants like Professor X, Cyclops, Raven, Magneto, and Storm will likely make their return, with their respective actors from the Fox universe as well. After all, Kelsey Grammer’s Beast is already introduced in The Marvels’ post-credit scene as a variant from a different dimension.

Besides Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, who portrayed Elektra in the 2000s Daredevil franchise, will also reprise her role as the assassin. Alongside Emma Corrin as the unknown villain of the film, these are the only confirmed new roles so far in Deadpool 3.

Besides these “new” faces, the threequel will also welcome the return of several old characters, such as Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), and Blind Al (Leslie Uggams).

So far, Marvel Studios hasn’t revealed anything about the plot of Deadpool 3 just yet. Emma Corrin’s villain role in the movie is also kept a secret, so it’s hard to get a grasp on who Wade Wilson and his allies are fighting against. 

However, we’re sure of one thing: the threequel’s theme will revolve around the Multiverse. Not only because it’s the main topic of Phase Four and Five of the MCU, but also due to the ending of Deadpool 3, which sees Wade time-traveling.

It is reported that Deadpool will time-travel to save Hugh Jackman’s Logan, and while the two will bicker at first, they’ll eventually team up to defeat the big bad guy played by Emma Corrin. There was even on-stage footage of Reynolds and Jackman, donning their iconic superhero costumes, and fighting each other ferociously.

Besides, there are also rumors that Deadpool 3 will feature the TVA, the organization responsible for managing timelines in the Multiverse. This is quite an interesting theory, since Marvel fans will also want to know what happens to the TVA after Loki Season 2’s ending.

One of the hottest rumors about Deadpool 3, is that the acclaimed singer Taylor Swift is said to have a cameo in the movie. The songstress is rumored to play Dazzler, a mutant with the ability to convert sound vibrations into energy beams, a role fitting for Swift’s singing prowess.

The fun thing is, the show’s director Shawn Levy, doesn’t directly confirm or deny the rumor when asked about the Taylor Swift rumor. He simply answered: “Sounds like a great idea,” without directly giving an answer, making fans even more hyped for a possible Taylor Swift appearance in Deadpool 3.
