Koalas have this fluffy and cuddly look that makes us want to hug and befriend them. Besides, their laid-back lifestyle of eating and sleeping might give the impression that they're completely harmless creatures. However, it's crucial to remember that these seemingly gentle creatures can display aggression, especially when they feel vulnerable or threatened outside their natural habitat.
In Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia, the residents were startled to discover a koala entangled in the nylon fence while attempting to navigate the residential area in search of food or a suitable tree. The nylon fence, initially erected to contain backyard chickens, had inadvertently become a trap for the koala.
A woman surmised that the koala had been ensnared for a considerable period and decided to take swift action to rescue the trapped koala.
She wrapped the koala in a blue towel and used scissors to carefully cut the netting around him. While cutting, she talked to the koala and petted him to keep him calm and let him know she was there to help.
She kept telling the little koala, “It’s okay, we’re gonna fix this for you,” Despite the fear in his eyes, he seemed to understand and pleaded with the woman to free him from his unlucky situation.
As the rescue mission progressed, the woman encountered the most challenging aspect—the koala's leg.
The koala, feeling the pain, attempted to defend itself by biting the woman when she tried to loosen the nylon so she could insert one side of the scissors and cut through.
Finally, he got rid of the net by bending over and shaking it off. Then, he ran away without looking back and climbed on one of their tried to rest there for a while.
We're sure the koala decided to stay away from that place after the rescue.
The video got really popular and nearly 2.3 million people watched it! People praised the woman for being so nice to the koala, even though it tried to scratch or bite her while she was cutting the net to set it free.
