Worried for these furry intruders, the homeowners swiftly reached out to the South Florida Wildlife Center, saying that urgent intervention was needed to secure the survival of the vulnerable kits.

Carolina Montano, the Director of Outreach at the South Florida Wildlife Center, stated, "We knew we were their only hope for survival."

With a keen sense of responsibility, the center wasted no time and swiftly deployed a dedicated rescuer to the scene, prepared to embark on a mission to rescue raccoons.

With a ladder, the seasoned rescuer ascended to the rooftop. Then, he carefully captured each raccoon kit using a net, moved them back to the ground, and placed them in the safety of an animal carrier.

“We reduced any potential stress by keeping everything calm and working quickly and efficiently,” Montano said.

At the South Florida Wildlife Center, the raccoon kits received a comprehensive care package tailored to their specific needs. After six months, rescuers discerned that the raccoons had reached an important moment—the juncture at which they were ready to go back to the wild.

Under the watchful eyes of dedicated caretakers, the little family flourished, tracing the trajectory of their natural development.

Now, reunited with the grass and trees, these once-orphaned raccoons have seamlessly slipped back into their wild existence. Rescuers hope that wherever they are, they’re thriving.

“We hope they will continue to develop into healthy adults and continue to care for the ecosystem as an integral part of it,” Montano said.
