Check Out Dog Who Cannot Realize Himself In Mirror, His Reaction Will Make You Roll On Floor Laughing

Emma Ackerman

Hey, ever noticed how pets have these unique traits that just make them super special? We're all suckers for their adorable antics, right? Well, Newsweek runs this awesome contest every week where people submit the best moments with their pets. It's like a wonderful place for animal lovers—seriously, you've got to check it out on Newsweek for all the cute overload. Today, let us introduce to you the star of last week, Angle. Let’s see what he did to win everyone's hearts and become the champion of the week.

The winner is Angel, an incredibly charming dog.

Angel is a 14-month-old rescue boxer and pug mix, and she lives with her owner, Teresa McCarthy, in Laredo, Texas.

And the video capturing Angel's behavior in front of the mirror is pure comedy. According to McCarthy's, Angel just can't wrap her head around the fact that the dog in the mirror is actually her. She genuinely thinks it's another dog.

However, this behavior is actually common in animals. Dogs, especially puppies like Angel, often react to their reflections as if encountering another dog. Besides, animals such as dolphins, gorillas, and orangutans have also been observed reacting to their reflections without realizing it's them. How funny, isn’t it?

We also gathered the finalists of the week, so if you are interested, give it a look.

The first finalist is Jaxx, a standard poodle who lives with his owner, Briana London, in Los Angeles, California. Ten-year-old Jaxx showcased his rock'n'roll Halloween costume from last week in an adorable picture. According to London, "Jaxx loves to be with people" and is a "loyal, devoted companion, very loving, extremely intelligent."

Next up is Jade, an eight-year-old dog who lives in Texas with her owner, Michelle Hendricks. Hendricks shared, "I got Jade from an ad in the newspaper asking for a new home for puppies for free." When she and her daughter saw Jade, they both fell in love with her. Jade, a border collie and Labrador mix, adores being around her feline friend Milo and has a passion for chasing balls.

Unfortunately, Jade and her owner have been separated for much of the last year, but they are soon to be reunited. Hendricks explained, "This last year and a half, we've been apart due to where I have been staying, which had no way she could stay because of other dogs. But now I am finally moving into my new garage apartment and will have my baby back."

Finalist of the week: Cat Bubba. Source: Newsweek

Finally is the ginger-and-white cat Bubba, who was rescued from a shelter in New York State by his owner, Claire Vandenberg. She shared, "He is sweet, loving, creative, and very smart," but also mentioned his mischievous side. Vandenberg humorously added, "He's a criminal too. He opens all the drawers and pulls stuff out. And he wakes his owners at 5 a.m. saying feed me!"

Vandenberg shared that Bubba just loves food, and he is always ready for treats. She also  mentioned that Bubba had to lose weight after a little overindulging. "He was 18 pounds. Now he's 13—much healthier."
