A not-so-clever corgi in the Philippines has become a viral sensation for its incredible ability to rescue itself from a tight spot in a stair railing.

In a short 31-second video shared on LadBible Australia's Facebook page, three men were seen assisting the corgi as they worked together to free it from the staircase railing.

One of the men had a shirt bearing the acronym "BFP," representing the Philippines' Bureau of Fire Protection, which apparently came to the dog's rescue.

The video shows the corgi wiggling and maneuvering until it finally manages to wriggle its way out, saving itself from an embarrassing predicament. The dog's owner expresses relief upon seeing the derp corgi's successful escape.

In a touching follow-up to the original video, the pet parent reassured viewers that the corgi is doing just fine after the daring escapade. Watch the video below to witness the corgi's rescue and the happy ending to this story.

Frankly, this is not the first time a dog gets itself into awkward situations to show how derp they are.

In July, firefighters in Queensland, Australia, came to the rescue of a puppy named Bonnie who had gotten herself into quite a predicament. Bonnie managed to stick her head through the middle of a wheel rim but couldn't pull herself back out.

The firefighters from Mareeba Fire and Rescue used a clever solution to free the pup. They applied plenty of olive oil and exercised patience to extricate Bonnie from her tight spot.

Luckily, the operation was a success, and Bonnie is reported to be recovering well from her ordeal. It's a heartwarming example of the care and dedication shown by first responders to save our four-legged friends.
