Animal Shelter Receives A Box With Emotional Note Inside, Everyone Can’t Hold Back The Tears

This is the time of year for giving, and in Germany's Cologne-Dellbrück Animal Shelter, they have a fundraiser event led by their four-legged ambassador, Lupo. This pup doesn't just wag his tail; he organizes a holiday market with donated goods that support their lifesaving work.

“[Lupo] requested goodies to sell at the market. Items we can sell to make money for animals,” shelter spokesperson Sylvia said.

When the shelter asks for donations, many people send things that will help animals in need. This year, there's a special cardboard box that catches the shelter staff's attention.

Opening the box, the shelter team finds a handmade gift. There's also a photo and a note.

The sender is a soul named Robby. His note, like a connection between worlds, introduced Robby to Lupo, creating a special bond.

“Hi Lupo, I’m Robby,” the note read. “Unfortunately, I’ve already crossed the rainbow bridge. But I am forever in my mom’s heart. For your fundraiser, I’m sending you a small package with homemade things.”

“These are things my grandma made. My grandma will be 91 in November, and she enjoys crafts,” the note continued.

“I hope you will have a great fundraiser and raise money so you can continue to get your treats, and your buddies can be well taken care of."

Staff at the shelter had never met Robby and had not heard of his family. It was a gift of love offered by strangers on behalf of their pet dog, who passed away. The note ended with "Love, Robby in Heaven," leaving feelings and turning a simple package into a reminder of how much pets impact our lives.

For the shelter staff, getting this special package was a really sweet surprise. Sylvia said, “When this very special package arrived, it almost made us cry. It was so sweet.”

She also hopes that sharing this story of kindness and generosity will inspire others to help animal shelters and rescue groups in their own communities.
