Photographer Spots A Haunting Face Pleading For Help On Beach

It was the sound of someone crying out for help.

The source of the desperate cry turned out to be a young seal pup, trapped between rocks and buried in sand up to his neck.

It's not clear how the seal pup ended up in such a dire situation, but Rachel could see that it couldn't get out on its own.

“She couldn’t just leave the pup, though she thought that there was no chance of him being rescued,” a spokesperson for the group Friends of Horsey Seals (FoHS) shared. “Thankfully, she sought help from the FoHS rescue team.”

FoHS rescuers swiftly descended upon the scene, and with careful efforts, they began to shovel away the sand that the little seal was stuck in.

Against initial concerns and fears, the Friends of Horsey Seals (FoHS) rescue team successfully orchestrated the rescue of the trapped seal.

"[Our team members] were able to dig the pup out and eventually lift him to freedom,” the FoHS spokesperson said.

The seal's fur was covered in sand, but he seemed to be in good health despite the frightening experience.

FoHS also emphasized that, even though the seal is still young, he's now independent from his mother and ready to overcome the challenges of life in the wild on his own—as long as no more unexpected troubles come his way.
