According to Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the original "Twilight" film, she believes Jacob Elordi and Jenna Ortega would be perfect for the roles if the saga were to be remade today. Speaking on the "Watchalong" podcast with host Josh Horowitz, Hardwicke expressed her agreement with the suggestion of Elordi and Ortega, who are currently prominent young stars in Hollywood.

Hardwicke praised Elordi, stating, “He’s amazing. He probably would be Edward today,” noting his recent success in films like Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla” and Emerald Fennell’s “Saltburn.” For the role of Bella, Hardwicke suggested Jenna Ortega, known for her work in the "Scream" series and Netflix’s “Wednesday.” Recently, Ortega has announced she won’t be in “Scream 7” due to scheduling conflicts.

“I do think there’s a lot of really cool young actors,” Hardwicke said. “You just mentioned Jenna Ortega, she’s amazing.”

Reflecting on casting Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the original film, Hardwicke recalled the studio questioning Pattinson's attractiveness for the brooding vampire role. Despite initial doubts, Hardwicke was convinced of Pattinson's suitability after auditions and noted the importance of ensuring the on-screen chemistry worked well.

However, fans should not be too excited as Jenna Ortega's casting in Twilight Reboot (if there is one) is not gonna happen soon.

While Catherine Hardwicke, the director of Twilight, suggested Jenna Ortega for a potential reboot, there is no confirmation that such a project is in the works. Moreover, Ortega's busy schedule, including commitments to "Wednesday" season 2 and the "Beetlejuice" remake, might pose challenges for her involvement.

As Ortega's career continues to rise, she may become more selective about her roles. While the idea of Jenna Ortega in a Twilight reboot isn't ruled out, fans should temper their expectations and await official announcements regarding any casting decisions.
