Months ago, DC and WIT Studio announced a shocking collaboration to make an ambitious Suicide Squad anime, dubbed Suicide Squad Isekai. As the name suggests, the anime will see iconic DC villains such as Harley Quinn, Joker, and King Shark get sent to a different dimension to fight evil. A teaser trailer was also released accordingly, giving fans a closer look into the anime’s visuals and characters.
And earlier this week, Suicide Squad Isekai finally got another update, as WIT Studio dropped another trailer, introducing to us every Task Force X member to appear in the anime, their visuals, and their Japanese voice cast. The studio also released an official art piece and synopsis. Let’s dive right in, DC fans, and see what Suicide Squad Isekai has in store for us.
#1. Suicide Squad Isekai’s Latest Trailer Introduces To Us The Full Squad Members
The official trailer unveils the rest of the Task Force X crew besides Harley Quinn whom we all know and love from the comics: King Shark, Clayface, Deadshot, and Peacemaker. The official visuals for these iconic characters are also revealed, with most of the characters getting comic-accurate costumes and looks.
The trailer also gives us a closer look into the different dimension where the Suicide Squad is transferred into. From human criminal mob, now the team must battle against dragons, orc armies, and goblins. A bomb is seemingly attached to the squad’s neck, and their head will be blown off after 60 hours if they don’t complete the mission in time.
#2. What Are The Voice Casts For Suicide Squad Isekai?
So far, Warner Bros. Japan only announced the Japanese voice cast for the anime. The young voice actress Anna Nagase will voice Harley Quinn, the protagonist of the group, while Joker will be voiced by Yuichiro Umehara. Reigo Yamaguchi, Jun Fukuyama, and Subaru Kimura will voice Deadshot, Clayface, and King Shark respectively.
Especially, Suicide Squad Isekai will feature Takehito Koyasu as Peacemaker’s voice actor. The legendary Japanese voice actor is best known for his voicework as Dio, the antagonist in Jojo Bizarre Adventure series. Koyasu’s appearance in Suicide Squad Isekai makes fans hype about the anime even more.
#3. What Is The Story Of Suicide Squad Isekai?
Strangely enough, we have very little information so far on Suicide Squad Isekai’s plot. What we already know is that Amanda Waller, Task Force X’s executive, sends the squad to the Isekai world to do a mission. The team must defeat different types of enemies on their way in 60 hours, or the bombs attached to their necks will blow their heads off.
Here is the official synopsis for the anime, according to IMDb:
