15 Superstars Who Were Bullied As Kids
Bullying is a conundrum that has existed for a long time. Children who were victims of bullying went through a really tough time that negatively affected their growing up. While many of them may sink deep into the quagmire of observations of being bullied, others can get over that and become stronger.
Many currently successful celebrities were victims of being bullied during their childhood. They now earn admiration and respect in spades, yet they were teased and even attacked for many reasons, be it their different visual, characteristics, or even their dream and passion for being actors or singers. That shaped a painful childhood for them.
In this post, we enlist 15 superstars who were bullied as children. From pop icon Justin Timberlake to Hollywood actress Jessica Alba, and even the king of action movie Jackie Chan, they will hit you hard with their bullying stories. Scroll down to check them out.
"I was a little confused as a kid because I grew up with my mum, and my mum is Black," she shared with Allure. "So I was cultured in a very 'Black' way. But when I go to school, I'm getting called 'white.' They would look at me and would curse me out. I didn't understand. I just knew I saw people of all different shades and I was light. Now I'm in a much bigger world."
She also had some funny shares about her lips: "What would I wish someone would have said to me at 12 when I had my speech impediment?" she reflected. "What do I want to say to little girls I know? Keep saying, 'Don't change. Be who you are.'"
Yet she added: "I just hocked a loogie on them and threw them in the trash can," she quipped. "Don't worry about the b----es. That could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life."
She added: "I was bullied so badly my dad used to have to walk me into school so I didn't get attacked. I'd eat my lunch in the nurse's office so I didn't have to sit with the other girls. Apart from my being mixed race, my parents didn't have money so I never had the cute clothes or the cool backpack."
As a result of that, her classmates began to treat her badly: "I was the brunt of every joke, every bad thing. I hated my reflection in the mirror. I would try to stuff food down my throat to gain weight."
Kate acknowledged that, on occasion, she still identifies with the timid young woman who was once given the term "Blubber." She was reportedly once confined inside a cabinet for art. Kids can be such jerks, man! But, like she said, who's laughing now?
He remembered: “The situation wasn't fantastic. I experienced bullying, and every day, other students would kick and hit me. It was a fundamental lesson in how producing a film can differentiate you. Don't make the movie if you don't want to deal with the fallout."
And it's obvious that those consequences have continued to affect him. "But that didn't help at the time. I was confused about other people's reactions to me, both good and bad. It can mess anyone up,"
