Kate Winslet Reveals the Criticism She Received for "Titanic" and a Regret She Has
Titanic was the first film to gross $1 billion when it was released in 1997. It held the record for the most money made in a film until 2010, when Avatar, another James Cameron production, surpassed it. However, following the film's success, Kate Winslet, who played Rose, openly discussed her experiences with body criticism. She's been contemplating it for years, but she has one regret about how she handled it.
“They would comment on my size, they’d estimate what I weighed, they’d print the supposed diet I was on,” Winslet remembered. “It was critical and horrible and so upsetting to read.”
