Zac Efron was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California - the heart of Hollywood but neither of his parents worked in the entertainment industry. Although Hollywood was in his backyard, it wasn't part of his family background. 
His step into acting and singing started in the early 2000s at Arroyo Grande High School. A crucial link to an agent was established with the help of a supportive drama teacher during that time.

Following his success in teen films like the High School Musical trilogy and 17 Again (2009), Zac Efron transitioned into more dramatic roles, notably in The Greatest Showman (2017) and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019). His expanding filmography contributed to a net worth of approximately $25 million, allowing him to acquire a Los Feliz mansion in 2013. After seven years of residence, Efron felt it was time for a change, prompting a decision to move on from the property.

At 36 years old, Zac Efron decided to sell his Los Feliz home in December 2020, unveiling its impressive features to the public. Nestled against the Hollywood Hills in a prestigious neighborhood with celebrity residents, the property boasts breathtaking views. Walls of glass, terraces, and various outdoor spaces enhance the experience, providing panoramic vistas of the city below.

Covering 5,455 square feet, Zac Efron's Los Feliz home includes five bedrooms and bathrooms. The main floor features a living area, dining room, chef's kitchen connected to a family room, and a master suite with a luxurious bathroom. 
The lower level comprises three bedrooms with bathrooms and a separate one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse. The property comes with additional amenities such as a gym, media room, game room, and security cameras. Outdoor spaces, including view decks, provide perfect spots for outdoor dining and unwinding.

Despite its initial asking price of $5.9 million, Zac Efron's Los Feliz home sold for $5.3 million in just a few months. He had originally bought the property for around $4 million, making it a profitable venture for the actor.

He started loving the life of a different country.

In 2020, Zac Efron made a significant move by relocating to Byron Bay, Australia. At the time, he still owned the Los Feliz mansion, and his initial van life in Australia led many to believe the move might be temporary.
He filmed the second season of his Netflix documentary series “Down to Earth” in Australia, spending over a year there. While he returned to the US for family time, Zac Efron soon found himself back in Australia to shoot “Ricky Stanicky,” a movie co-starring John Cena with no set debut date.

After moving to Australia, Zac Efron found love with Vanessa Valladares, a waitress at Byron Bay General Store & Cafe, in June 2020. They dated, spending Christmas and New Year’s together.
Although they've since split, this relationship may have influenced Efron's decision to permanently move from the US, leading to him putting his L.A. home on the market. At the beginning of 2021, a source revealed that Efron already considered Australia “home.”

The actor doesn’t think Hollywood is a healthy place to live in.

In the fourth episode of ‘Down to Earth,” Zac Efron openly expressed his desire to move away from Hollywood and the associated lifestyle, stating that it doesn't contribute to a “long, happy, mentally-sound life.”
Both Zac Efron and Chris Hemsworth chose to move to Australia to distance themselves from the hecticness of Hollywood. Despite being Australian, Hemsworth shared a similar mindset with Efron.
