Who Plays Adult Van In Yellowjackets? Meet Lauren Ambrose-Adult Van Cast In Yellowjackets
Lauren Ambrose was interviewed alongside Melanie Lynskey and Cristina Ricci by Collider to discuss the show Yellowjackets, in which Ambrose plays the adult version of Van, a role which was previously portrayed by Liv Hewson in season one. Ambrose shared some information about what fans could expect from Van as an adult.
She's still rocking that casual-cool look, and perhaps most notably, the remains of her scars from that brutal wolf attack in the past can clearly be seen on the left side of her face. She's all smiles at work, but the third image tells a different story, where she has a decidedly less enthusiastic expression on her face.
When Showtime cast two-time Emmy and Tony nominee Ambrose (Six Feet Under) as the adult version of Van, it became clear that she was one of them. Additionally, Liv Hewson, who plays teenage Van, was upped to a series regular, which means viewers can expect a lot more of the character in season 2.

Yellowjackets, which is created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, will return for its highly-anticipated second season starting Friday, March 24 on streaming and on-demand for all Showtime subscribers, before making its on-air debut on Sunday, March 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Discussing the series, Lauren Ambrose confessed that she loved Liv’s performance as Van in the show's first season. Liv Hewson’s performance paved the way for Ambrose to star in the show, and for that, she was thankful.
"The character’s a survivor from the first scene you see her. She's waking her drunk mother before she goes off to the soccer trip. And the performance was so beautiful and open and alive, even in the face of so many harrowing staring-death-in-the-face experiences. And I think when we find Van grown up that the character is kind of hardened, calcified and dimmed, and seemingly okay. Functioning, clearly, sort of, but the light is turned way down.”
