The characters in "Power Book II: Ghost" often emphasize remembering that luck favors the brave. Monet Tejada, Lorenzo's wife, was the one who put a hit out on her uncle Gordo Castillo, who was Lorenzo's nephew. In Episode 5, Lorenzo and Cane (Woody McClain) have a conversation about how it is in Lorenzo's best interests to reveal to Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) that he was the one who killed Zeke (Daniel Bellamy).
Lorenzo informs Cane that he does not require an admission of guilt because Monet will never forgive him. On the other hand, Cane believes that he will be able to do a better job of breaking the news than Lorenzo, particularly given that Monet believes that Lorenzo is concealing something from her. Later on, Monet finds out that Lovell Adams-Gray, a member of the G2G gang who Lorenzo claims murdered Zeke and assaulted Dru, is an innocent person. Lorenzo was always the one responsible.
Monet runs into Evelyn (Luna Lauren Vélez), and he reveals to her that Lorenzo (David Zayas) ordered a kill on his brother Frank (David Zayas) because he believed Frank was going to betray some informants. Monet informs Evelyn that Lorenzo ordered the hit because he believed Frank would betray some informants. The kind manner in which Evelyn reacts to the news and her assurance that she would not seek vengeance takes Monet by surprise.

As the episode develops, Monet expresses her frustration to Lorenzo at the rate at which the authorities have been probing the circumstances surrounding the death of Officer Whitman (Jeff Hephner). On the other hand, their investigation into Zeke's murder hasn't been as fruitful as they had hoped. At the hangar, Lorenzo, filled with guilt, admits that he accidentally shot Zeke and apologizes to him. According to him, Zeke represented Mecca, and for Monet to join him in safety, he needed to be killed.
Monet loses control of her temper and hits Lorenzo as soon as possible. She tells him that she no longer trusts him and that he needs to leave the flat and the city immediately. Monet asserts that she will be the one to tell the children that their parents will be getting a divorce. It should be no surprise that Lorenzo is murdered before he can depart New York City. Lorenzo gets a flat tire and opens the trunk to retrieve a replacement when he is attacked and has his neck cut.

It turns out that Gordo Castillo, played by Erik Hernandez, was the one who committed the murder. Remember that this goes down before Lorenzo painted the mural in Zeke's honor for Monet, so keep that in mind. Gordo says to Lorenzo, "Bleed, b—h," as Lorenzo bleeds to death. To frame it differently, "bleed for what you did to my father." Gordo exits the room, seemingly to send a message to someone on his phone. The recipient of Gordo's "Done." text message will now be responsible for doing the next action. Much obliged.
In the fourth episode, Monet and Gordo briefly discuss how to cope psychologically after the death of a loved one. When questioned about the one he holds responsible for his father's death, Gordo responds that he wants to sever their throat. To get revenge for Zeke's passing, Monet essentially gave her blessing to the assassination of Gordo. This is how several objectives may be fulfilled at the same time.
