As we all know, the storyline of The Rookie follows John Nolan, a 40-year-old man who moves from his comfortable small-town life to Los Angeles to fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). In the risky, interesting and unpredictable world of being the oldest "rookie" cop, John must find his own way to overcome new challenges, as well as figure out how to make his second chance at life worthwhile. The Rookie is still going on strong at the moment, remaining its position as one of ABC’s highest-rated dramas.

We are going to meet an extremely familiar face on this episode of The Rookie, and it is going to be an awkward reunion.
One of the most unexpected guests, Isabel - who is also known as Tim's ex-wife -  has arrived in town. According to Tim, Isabel is here because she would like to talk about something. In the promo video, we can catch a glimpse of the interaction between Lucy and Isabel, as Lucy is the one who opens the door for Isabel to let her come inside the house.
Well, Isabel's appearance is something that no one would have been able to guessed, including Lucy.

"Is that the ex-wife Isabel?", Tamara asks Lucy in a confusing voice. "Yes. It's a little weird", Lucy, who looks like she is still unsure of this whole situation, answers. Even though it is not clear what Isabel's true intention is, Lucy couldn't help but getting a little bit nervous. We can't blame her - who wouldn't be put off if their boyfriend's ex-wife suddenly shows up?

 

Why did Isabel decide to meet Tim? Is she going to cause troubles, or is she actually here to offer help? What if Isabel still has feelings for Tim? Moreover, why does she visit Lucy's apartment instead of Tim's?
There are a whole bunch of questions popping up in our head right now, but we will have to wait for Episode 20 to finally get the answers.

The Rookie Season 5 Episode 20 also marks the return of Skip Tracer Randy, who is arguably one of the most hilarious characters in The Rookie.
Randy has definitely gotten himself into trouble as he broke into someone's house and found a whole dead person. When the polices arrive at the crime scene, one of the first thing that they see is an awkward Randy with two hands drenched in blood. Yikes.
To make matter worse, Randy decides to stick to the Britney Spears classic "Oops, I Did It Again" and discover an another corpse. So Randy has unintentionally encountered dead bodies, not only once, but twice, in just a short span of time? Huh, doesn't it sound a little bit too suspicious?

Based on the trailer, it's certain that Monica is going to be Randy's lawyer. It seems like both Monica and the polices believe that Randy's not the murderer. However, if they can't figure out a way to solve this complicated case, Randy will become the number one suspect, and the next scene of Randy that we get to see will be him getting arrested. Oh boy. Let's just hope luck is on his side.
