In the middle of Perry's cross-examination of a witness, Della Street decides to take over it. The witness here is Councilman Taylor, who is the brother of the mistress Noreen of the victim Brooks McCutcheon.
And that's not the end yet. Della is willing to wrap a belt around her neck to show the judge how a woman being strangled would look like. In the end, Taylor has to admit that his sister was strangled. Everyone in the courtroom becomes speechless as they watch Della's amazing performance.
On an anniversary night out with Clara, Paul notices Ozzy Jackson's Converse on the feet of another boy. He attempts to stop and question him. When Clara asks him what's going on, he rudely answers her, trying to shut her out of his job in a way we've never seen before.
He's also a jerk to his brother-in-law Mo, whom he hires to keep a watch on a corner where a wealthy junkie might show up to buy drugs. Paul knows that Mo is not a professional, yet he still lashes out at him when Mo doesn't bring back the result that he wants. He decides to investigate the corner by himself, but he eventually loses sight of his target while chasing down Jackson's Converse, again. It feels like Paul's inner state is falling apart, and someone needs to do something before he completely breaks down.
Everything is going on so well, and it seems like victory is already lying in the hand of Perry's team. However, we all know that life is not that easy, and so is winning a case.
Perry suddenly encounters a problem as prosecutor Tommy Milligan uses the help of Perry's old friend, Pete Strickland. He breaks into Perry's office and discovers that Perry hides the murder weapon in his safe. And it's not a surprise that Milligan decides to reveal this shocking news in the middle of the court.
