One Piece Season 2 On Netflix: Everything About The Straw Hats' Next Adventure

So far, the official release date for One Piece Season 2 hasn’t been confirmed yet by any party. Just days ago, the series’ official page on X brought us a special message directly from Eiichiro Oda himself, revealing that One Piece Season 2 is already in its early stages of development.

Needless to say, the piece of news brought every One Piece fan to their feet. The first live-action season was a huge success, and is widely considered one of the best anime live-action adaptations in Hollywood’s history.

Good news for the series’ fans, the main cast from the first season will definitely return for the second season. Iñaki Godoy, Arata McKenyu, Emily Rudd, Taz Skylar, and Jacob Romero have been mesmerizing us since day one by portraying the iconic Straw Hats members, and they will be back for more antics and bounty in One Piece Season 2.

Some popular supporting characters from the first season, like Shanks (Peter Gadiot), Buggy (Jeff Ward), Monkey D. Garp (Vincent Regan), or Koby (Morgan Davies), will most definitely return with a more significant role in the second season.

Besides, if the Netflix series decides to stay faithful to the manga, the pirate crew will welcome some new blood to the team in the upcoming season. All fan-favorite characters from the original manga, such as Nico Robin and Chopper, are rumored to join the team in the near future. Chopper is even featured in Eiichiro Oda’s announcement video on X, so his appearance is very likely. 

Some of the other characters who may make their debut include Princess Vivi, Smoker, Crocus, and Kureha. However, Netflix hasn’t disclosed their actors just yet.

One Piece Season 1 adapts the first 95 chapters of Oda’s manga, which covers the whole Arlong Park arc. If our estimation is correct, One Piece Season 2 will cover the next 95-100 chapters or so. The next 100 chapters in the manga cover the expansive Arabasta saga, which contains several minor arcs, alongside two major arcs: the Drum Island and the Arabasta.

In these two arcs, the Straw Hats will meet Chopper and Robin, the two later members of the team, Smoker, Dr. Kureha, and Ace. They will also face against Crocodile, one of the most iconic villains in the whole franchise. Robin and Chopper join the Straw Hats after the Arabasta arc.

If Netflix decides to cover the whole Arabasta Saga for Season 2, One Piece fans are in for an absolute treat, as the saga is action-packed and features tons of new characters.

Just like its predecessors, one can watch the second season exclusively on Netflix.

So far, there are no official trailers for Season 2 just yet, since the project is still in its early stages of development.

So far, Netflix hasn’t disclosed how many episodes the second season will have. Therefore, we’ve made some calculations on our own.

The lengthy Arabasta Saga starts from chapter 96 to chapter 217 in the manga, so One Piece Season 2 might need at least 10 episodes if Netflix decides to cover the whole thing. However, the second season can also be condensed into 8 episodes, just like the first, if Netflix removes one or two minor arcs of the story.

Thanks to the first season’s success, One Piece Season 2 is now one of the most anticipated Netflix series at the moment, and the hype around it is totally justified. Let’s hope that we won’t have to wait too long to see Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats on the small screen again.
