Special Agent Timothy McGee, a computer whiz from MIT who has been promoted to senior field agent; Special Agent Nicholas "Nick" Torres, a charismatic loner who has spent the majority of his career working undercover; and Special Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo, an athletic and tough North Carolina Special Agent are some of the other members of the team. Ducky Mallard, a retired medical examiner, is now the National Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS) historian.
Ducky's protege, Jimmy Palmer, rose through the ranks to become a licensed medical examiner and is now in charge of the morgue. Ducky's graduate assistant, forensic scientist Kasie Hines, also contributes to the team. NCIS Director Leon Vance is an intelligent and well-trained agent, and you can always count on him to change things up when he's on the case. If there is a connection to the Navy or Marines, these operatives investigate various crimes, from murder to espionage to terrorism and even the theft of submarines.
