Meet Golden-Browed Chlorophonia, The Eye-catching Birds Will Amaze You With Their Perfect Green-And-Yellow Feathers

It’s not an exaggeration to say that birds are skillful fashionistas in wildlife. Mother nature definitely has assigned them the responsibility to become fabulous models, who would easily amaze watchers with their colorful coats. Hence, it’s understandable when birds are so diverse and beautiful that they grab all the attention wherever they appear. Today, I want to introduce to you Golden-Browed Chlorophonia, an amazing bright green bird, whose feathers look like a masterpiece made of natural colors.
Golden-Browed Chlorophonia live mainly in Costa Rica and Panama, where the climate is pleasantly warm and muggy. They belong to the Fringillidae family and have an average length of 13cm (5.1 in).

The species normally has the feathers above coloring with bright green and the below part of their bodies coloring with yellow. They have a narrow blue eye ring and a thin blue line extending from its nape to its breast. There are slight differences between males and females. Male birds have a wide golden-yellow eyebrow stripe and a violet-blue cap while female birds don’t have these features and they’re replaced with green.

They have a soft whistling call: wheeeeuuu.

There is an interesting legend about this special animal. In Costa Rica, the birds are commonly known as Rualdo by local people. Rumors are spread widely in the location that the birds used to have a wonderful singing voice but offered that to the volcano Poás to prevent a young woman from having to be sacrificed, thus keeping the volcano from erupting.
