Hugh Jackman’s Official Wolverine Suit In Deadpool 3 Is Finally Revealed, And It's Exactly What Fans Are Looking For
As the release date of the Deadpool threequel draws closer (though it’s still almost a year away), and the production stage is coming to a wrap, fans are excited to hear any piece of news regarding the Merc of the Mouth and Hugh Jackman’s return as the immortal mutant, the Wolverine. Besides Jackman’s appearance, the audience is in for a treat Jennifer Garner will also reprise her role as Elektra, and the new official costume for Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool is also leaked a couple of days ago. The news around Deadpool 3 is getting hotter than ever.
And yesterday, Marvel and X-Men fans are in for yet another pleasant surprise, as the official suit for the Wolverine in the movie is finally revealed by none other than Hugh Jackman himself. #1. The Wolverine’s official suit got everyone on their feet.

In his latest Instagram story, Hugh Jackman posted a picture of him walking alongside Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool on the film set, both donning their official outfits in the movie, with a short caption: “Don’t blink”. The thing that excites fans the most, is that the Aussie actor’s costume is the comic-accurate rendition of the Wolverine suit, which fans have dreamt of for a long time.
In the picture, we can see the iconic dirty yellow and dark blue color palette on Hugh Jackman’s attire, which looks almost identical to its comic counterpart. The actor doesn’t wear his iconic facemask though, but I’m sure we’ll get to see more of it in the trailers and the movie. Seeing this picture might make some lifelong Marvel fans shed a tear, as Jackman has not once worn the yellow outfit during his days in the X-Men franchise.
#2. What does Wolverine’s live-action costume look like compared to the comics?

Of course, there are still some considerable differences between the live-action costume and the comic one. As we can see in the pic, Jackman’s suit has a sleeker and more simplistic look, with many details toned down from the more extravagant comic counterpart, such as the shorter boots, the darker blue color scheme, the longer yellow sleeve, and the underpants part is mainly yellow now instead of blue. The iconic red belt is also replaced with a yellow one, which makes it blend better with other parts of the suit.
On the other side, Deadpool’s new costume remains largely the same, barring the new adorable face logo on the belt, and more black patterns compared to the first two Movies. Of course, the lack of change in the Merc with a Mouth’s attire doesn’t bother fans much, as Wade never has that big of a wardrobe in the comics anyway.

Much different from 20th Century Fox, Marvel Studios tend to give their character their comic-accurate suit with a touch of artistry, as they have done with Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Captain America. Having been a part of the X-Men franchise for a good long while before becoming the head of Marvel, director Kevin Feige knows full well how long fans have yearned for the Wolverine’s iconic yellow suit to make its debut on the silver screen, and he decides to grant their wish by putting it into the Deadpool threequel.
With this recent change by Marvel, X-Men fans can hope to see more of their favorite mutants finally get their comic-accurate suits, such as Cyclops, Jean Grey or Storm.

As we all know, Logan’s journey in Fox’s X-Men Universe has come to an end as he meets his demise in the 2016 titular movie to save his daughter. However, this doesn’t prove to be a problem for Marvel, as they’re expanding the Multiverse in the MCU, and Hugh Jackman has confirmed that Deadpool 3 will include time travel.
With the Multiverse coming into play, Marvel not only can bring back Logan, but also other iconic X-Men characters as their variants from other dimensions. Along with the Deadpool franchise famously known for the breaking-the-fourth-wall gag, the X-Men’s introduction into the MCU via the Multiverse and time travel makes even more sense. This theory will also fully explain why in the threequel, Jackman will wear the comic-accurate costume instead of the leather suit in the Fox Universe.
