How Spider-Man: No Way Home Sets Up Perfectly An Iconic Peter Parker Villain

Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the best MCU movies post-Endgame, and its ending is also one of the most tragic. Peter Parker, whose existence is completely wiped from others’ memory, including his friends and lover, now has to rebuild anything from scratch, while still donning his mask of Spider-Man to keep a check on New York.
With such a bleak future awaits our Spidey, fans are looking forward to the next Spider-Man installment in the MCU. And while there is no concrete information just yet about a potential fourth movie, many believe No Way Home’s ending has already perfectly set up the big bad guy for Spider-Man 4. So, who is Peter Parker up against in part four? Let’s find out.

At the end of No Way Home, we got to see three different versions of Peter Parker pitched against the Sinister Five, consisting of multiple Spidey villains coming from different dimensions. In the end, at the cost of Peter’s identity, Doctor Strange managed to send all of the villains back to their respective universes, including Eddie Brock and Venom.
Or, at least, most of Venom. As Eddie was warped away, he left behind a fraction of symbiote on Earth-616, meaning Venom is now officially a part of the MCU. We all know that the symbiote has been an iconic Spidey villain since forever, so this can only mean one thing: a potential encounter between Venom and Peter Parker in the next Spider-Man movie.

#2. How Venom Can Affect Spider-Man In The Comics

Venom first made its Marvel Comics debut in the 1984 Secret Wars storyline, and has cemented its place as one of Spider-Man’s arch-nemesis ever since. It turned into a suit for Peter to wear, which greatly enhanced his strength and abilities, but in return, negatively affected his emotions and actions.
Similar stories were also used in future Spider-Man movies and games, such as Spider-Man 3, Ultimate Spider-Man, or Marvel Spider-Man 2.

#3. Why Spider-Man 4 Is The Perfect Chance To Introduce The Symbiote To The MCU

The nature of the symbiote is to give strength and healing abilities to its host, and in return, it feeds on their emotions, so we can see how it can affect MCU Peter Parker, who’s now in the most vulnerable state of his life. At the end of No Way Home, Peter has lost everything: Tony, Aunt May, and his friends and lover don’t remember him anymore.
Therefore, in his current state, Peter could easily get exploited by the symbiote, making him the perfect host. This would also mean we can get to see a more aggressive and cynical version of Tom Holland on screen, just like what we’ve seen in Tobey Maguire’s Peter in Sam Raimi’s trilogy. The symbiote could use Peter by chirping in his year and promising a happier life. And maybe, we’ll get to see Peter Parker run rampage in the next Spider-Man movie.

Peter Parker’s adventure in the MCU so far is unlike anything we’ve seen in previous Spider-Man franchises. Right at the start he participates in the Civil War between the Avengers, and then joins in a cosmic-scale battle with Thanos and his army in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, he continues to swing his way through the Multiverse to fight villains from different dimensions.
With Peter bidding farewell to his past life and all the Stark tech after No Way Home, we can see the character return to be a street-level superhero just like he always has been in the comics. The scale of battles will be much smaller, and villains will be more grounded-level than before.

Therefore, Venom is a perfect villain to be in Spider-Man 4, as it can both help bring the Wall-Crawler story back to a more basic level, while also introducing him to the upcoming Secret Wars storyline in the MCU.
