At the beginning of this episode, we all learn about the death of Bruce Wayne and the revelation that he was Batman. Terry Turner, a student at Bruce's school and the new Batman, is shocked by the news and is determined to find out who killed him. After a break-in at Wayne Tower, Turner discovers the Batcave by accident. He and his friend Stephanie start to investigate who could have killed Bruce and paid off the killers. Along the way, they meet other fugitives who are also trying to escape the law.
Turner is arrested and put in the same cell with his accomplices: Cullen, Harper, and Duela. They learn that the detective investigating the case is corrupt and is trying to kill them. In a chaotic escape attempt, Robin appears to help them. Meanwhile, Stephanie goes to the Batcave to try to help Turner by using the computer to find more clues.

As they hide out in the school's clock tower, the group understands that the Court of Owls, a powerful secret society, is behind Bruce's death and controls Gotham. Detective Ford, who had the same mysterious coin as Bruce, is killed by a person in a mask in a parking lot. Harvey Dent holds a press conference to say that he will catch the fugitives. Thus, Turner and his friends must now find a way to stop the Court of Owls and clear their names before it's too late.
