'Firefly Lane' Car Accident & The Recap: SPOILERS!

Searching for Firefly Lane car accident? Here we go! When Kate Mularkey (played by Sarah Chalke) and Tully Hart (played by Katherine Heigl) were kids and growing up together on Firefly Lane, both in real life and in the Netflix series of the same name, they believed they would be best friends forever. A huge mystery runs as a dark undercurrent throughout the series, and while it may sound like a pleasant story about friendship, the question of what caused the end of Kate and Tully's friendship remains unanswered.
Fans of Firefly Lane, we've got an even more important question: who passes away in Firefly Lane? If the Netflix series follows the original novel of the same name written by Kristin Hannah, we are in for a big tragedy that will crush our hearts.

#1. Comprehensive Recap: Firefly Lane Car Accident

Firefly Lane Car Accident
The identity of the character who passed away after Firefly Lane Season 1 is revealed in the first episode of the second season of Firefly Lane. It was revealed that the culprit was Bud, Kate's father.
At Bud's burial, we first learn about the significant divide between Kate and Tully. Kate felt unsure about going to the funeral, despite Tully's want to be there. She held Tully responsible for her daughter Marah (Yael Yurman), who was sent to the hospital after being involved in a serious vehicle accident (even though Tully was also hospitalized in said accident).
After realizing that Kate had failed to care for Marah in the manner that was expected of a responsible adult, Tully made an effort to make amends with her. Nevertheless, that was the final straw for Kate in her relationship with Tully. She had the impression that her buddy was only concerned about herself (bearing in mind that Kate also felt uneasy about her on-again, off-again boyfriend Johnny sleeping with Tully before she and Tully got together). Still, the vehicle accident was the event that pushed her over the edge.

The tragic, dramatic irony here is that Kate abandons Tully when she might most use the support of her closest friend. Kate begins to experience a peculiar discomfort in her breast shortly after their friendship ends; it is later determined that she has advanced-stage cancer and needs rapid treatment.
Just as Kate attempted to contact her best friend Tully again, Tully was nowhere to be found. Because Tully had previously committed to filming a documentary about saving the earth in Antarctica, she was unavailable when Kate required her help. Because when was the last time timing in a concert worked out perfectly?

#2. 'Firefly Lane', SPOILERS

Firefly Lane Car Accident
In the first Firefly Lane book, Kate does end up passing away (it's okay, we weren't going to need a box of Kleenex anyway! Why does every single one of these shows featuring amazing female friendships end with one of the women passing away?) However, after Firefly Lane Season 2 Part, Kate is still alive in the Firefly Lane Netflix series. Could the television adaptation affect the way the story was originally concluded in the book?
