10 Underrated Yet Cute Cartoon Couples That Will Make You Go "Aww!" Every time

Easily one of the most underrated love stories in Disney Universe, this dynamic duo deserves an honorable mention in the list. The nerdy and ambitious Milo teams up with the athletic and charismatic Princess Kida, as they embark on a journey together to save Atlantis from the hands of evil. 

Milo wins over Kida’s heart at the end thanks to his heroic act, and the two become the rulers of Atlantis together.

Most of us romanticists will focus on the wholesome relationship between Candace and Jeremy in the series, but the chemistry between Phineas and Isabella is right up there as well. Most of the time, their relationship is just a one-sided affair from Isabella, who tries to flirt with Phineas all summer, but the latter simply can’t pick up the clue.

Thankfully, in the final episode,  Act Your Age, a teenager Phineas finally realizes his feelings for Isabella before it’s too late, and the two finally get together after years of waiting.

Besides Candance and Phineas’s respective relationships, the love story between their parents is also surprisingly beautiful. Both Linda and Lawrence come from broken marriages with children of their own, but they never fail to show affection to all of their kids. The interaction between the spouses is also surprisingly wholesome, making them one of the best cartoon parents ever.

Kim and Ron are the polar opposite, as their surnames suggest. One is the most prolific spy in the world, the other is a klutz who often messes up in important moments. Somehow, the two become best friends, and gradually, their relationship turns into love.

While Ron is sometimes clumsy and clueless, he is very loyal to his friend, always tries his best in every situation, and never gives up no matter how hard things get. These are only some of the reasons why Kim falls for him in the end, and we must say, our boy deserves it.

Every couple would love to have a long-lasting relationship like Hiccup and Astrid. From when they were kids to their adulthood, the two have been together through many adventures and overcame many challenges. 

At the end of part 3, they get married and have children of their own, thus concluding a perfect trilogy about one of the best couples in Dreamwork’s history. And of course, we can’t forget about Toothless, the ultimate wingman (or wingdragon?) that has made this relationship possible.

The relationship between Rapunzel and Flynn is the pinnacle of a modern Disney romance. Flynn, from a good-for-nothing thief, turns into an honest and brave man to be worthy of his princess. Meanwhile, Rapunzel breaks free of her shell and Mother Gothel’s shackles to stand on her man’s side. Watch and learn, Snow White!

In the Shrek universe, Shrek’s love for Fiona is entirely overshadowed by the unlikely relationship between Donkey and the Dragon. For obvious reasons, this is easily one of the most hilarious couples in animation history. The sheer difference in size and looks is comical, yet the two are still together after four movies, and even have some cute donkey-dragon hybrid children together.

While some of us here are still single, Pixar decided to make two robots fall in love with each other in Wall-E. They share quite a healthy relationship as well, as the ragtag Wall-E slowly melts Eve’s heart (or in a robot’s case, a CPU hard drive). Finally, the two get the heartwarming ending on a reviving Earth.

Admit it, we all had a crush on Chel as a kid. While romance isn’t the most important aspect of Road to El Dorado, Tulio and Chel’s unexpected affair is still a refreshing change of pace that we all welcome. Chel’s snarky nature and quick wits go really well with Tulio’s one-liners.

In the end, the two, along with Miguel, escape El Dorado together, and we all hope Dreamwork to release a sequel to see how their relationship will develop.

Avatar fans would mostly focus on the relationship between Aang and Katara, but Sokka’s love story should be right up there as well. The Water Tribe’s native has a rather…rough romance saga, as one of his girlfriends literally turns into the moon.

Luckily, near the end, Suki returns to the action, and we get to see more of the hilarious dynamic and interactions between the two. In the end, the two kiss and become a couple, and it’s the least that Sokka deserves.
