Due to Chadwick Boseman’s passing, director Ryan Coogler must adjust the plot accordingly, giving T’Challa a sudden off-screen death by an unknown disease. As the kingdom of Wakanda grieves its deceased ruler, they must face yet another threat: the Talokan of Namor the Submariner. 

To protect her home, Shuri must find Riri Williams, a talented MIT student, and hand her to Namor. However, the deal is off, and both Shuri and Namor find themselves on two sides of a brewing war.

Though it doesn’t have the same impact as the first movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is still widely praised for its plot, special effects, and the performance of both Wright and Huerta. The sequel was a huge box office success, grossing over $859 million worldwide.
