Omar comes just as Regina and Rome are about to raise the topic of assisted living with Walter, and he is not pleased to learn about it from a family member. Rome claims that Omar has done nothing since he called him three months ago to inform him of Walter's impending arrival. Omar seems unconcerned about Walter's dementia as he enters the room and does not recognize his child for a few seconds.
Nonetheless, he disagrees with Rome's suggestion that they sell the family home. The Howard brothers engaged in conflict. They engage in violent conflict. The two conclude that they must band together to act as Walter's safety net. After supper that evening, they notified Walter of their plan: they would rent out his home to finance the expense of his assisted living facility. Walter accepts without hesitation, much to everyone's relief.
Maggie can return to work because Inez, Javi's aunt, watches him while Gary is at an insurance conference, allowing her to do so. She is irritated that Colton has decided to move Maggie to Saturdays. At the same time, Jessica remains in the weekday slot, and she is dismayed that the radio station has begun broadcasting advertisements for an unproven supplement that claims to alleviate depression.

Maggie bursts at home because she missed Javi's first smile and because Inez put a pacifier on him despite Maggie's stringent instructions. The following day, though, as the baby continues to cry, Maggie gives in and uses the pacifier. While she walks and listens to Dr. Jessica's program, she finds solace in the psychiatrist's warning to a caller that the medicines sold on her show are only vitamins and would not improve her mental health.
Maggie later apologizes to Jessica in person, and Jessica regrets being so oblivious to Colton's deception. When Colton invited Maggie to return, she said she would only do so under specific conditions, such as cohosting on Fridays and alternating days with Jessica. Colton acknowledges he has a few questions, but he will comply. When Gary returns, Maggie apologizes to Inez for being such a jerk, and she receives her forgiveness. She contends that they are linked, after all.
