Emma Stone stumbled into fame. She landed early roles in Superbad and Zombieland. Stone intended to advance her career after these roles. She auditioned for Easy A, which is about a girl spreading stories via webcam to get popularity. Emma Stone sent the casting director a webcam-recorded one-minute monologue to audition. Stone loathed being told to record herself because she would never be pleased. Stone spent hours filming the monologue and only submitted it after her roommate nagged her.

2. Margot Robbie

Robbie did something unexpected—she smacked Leonardo DiCaprio during her audition for the part. Directing legend Martin Scorsese once said, "She clinched her part in The Wolf of Wall Street during our first meeting – by jerking off and giving Leonardo DiCaprio a thunderclap of a smack on the face, an improvisation that astonished us all." Robbie claimed she had trouble interacting with Leonardo DiCaprio during an improvised thirty-second scenario during the audition. Before DiCaprio could even beg Robbie to come to kiss him, she had already moved up and slapped him.

3. Judd Nelson

Before he became an actor, Judd Nelson would go to the auditions of his friends to cheer them on. In one case, he was told he had to leave if he wasn't auditioning. Nelson didn't want to leave a friend, so he tried out for a small part and got it. He hopes his friend also got the part they both tried out for. If not, it would have been a strange drive home. It seems like an unnecessary step, but some directors are strict about who can watch auditions because having your friends or family there can be seen as unprofessional. After all, wouldn't want your friend to sit next to you at an interview, would you?

4. Jason Statham

First movie: 1998's Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. After meeting Guy Ritchie, he was offered the role. Ritchie was confident Statham would be excellent for the role because of a particular narrative he heard. Statham's childhood wasn't easy. His father was a street vendor. Thus, he sold unlawful things. Statham was requested to audition by pretending to offer Guy Ritchie illegal jewelry. Statham nailed the audition because he'd genuinely hustled. It launched his career.

To get the role of Barney Stinson, actor Neil Patrick Harris put himself in his character's head during his audition. Before entering the audition room, he told Alyson Hannigan (who would go on to be cast as Lily) that he was planning to improvise a tactical role. For Alyson to be certain that Neil had genuinely performed the role, she had him bang on the wall afterward. When Neil attempted his roll, he completely knocked himself out by failing to account for how close he was to the wall. Oops!

6. Jason Momoa

Before Game of Thrones, Jason Momoa had a dismal acting career. Momoa offered to do the Haka, a Maori war dance. You've probably seen the All Blacks' ritual if you've watched international rugby. Fiji and Papua New Guinea also do the Haka. YouTube has Momoa's audition. Moma said, "Khal Drogo says little in Game of Thrones. What do you say? It's empty. "I have an idea," I said. Is dancing before the audition allowed? Oh, sure. I then Haka'd. I couldn't stop my heart when auditioning later. The first time, they were afraid. They asked me to return so they could tape it."

7. Eddie Redmayne

While during his audition for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Eddie Redmayne was initially forced to read a scene from Pride and Prejudice before being told he was trying out for the role of the film's antagonist. Assuming that a Darth Vader impression would impress the casting directors, the Oscar winner began reading his lines in character. After ten rapid reads, the casting director asked if he had anything else, and Redmayne, embarrassed, responded no.
He even made the classic breathing sound that Vader is known for a while reading the words. Proving once and for all that even Oscar winners can flub an audition. It's for the best because he gives a stellar performance in Fantastic Beasts.
