8 Animated Disney Movies That Need The Live-Action Adaptation

Disney has been busy reimagining the catalog of animated films as live-action and TV series based on the original work for the last decade or so. Some of Disney’s biggest and most memorable movies have seen the light of cinema once again, while others get used to a launch on Disney+ streaming. And the audiences seem to need more live-action adaptations from Disney. Several Disney movies need the live-action adaptation.
It goes without saying that Disney live-action remakes have served as easy diversions for parents to have a nice going-out weekend. Indeed, some people may think that Disney should make some efforts by pulling picks from their animated properties that deserved the live-action treatment, instead of recycling their classic movies like Beauty and the Beast or Mulan. So we would love to revisit some of Disney’s most iconic animated movies that we feel deserve live-action adaptations. #1 Lilo & Stitch (2002)

The original LiLo & Stich movie came in after Disney's Renaissance era had come to an end. That means this movie was a highlight during a period when Disney's animation department had actually lost its way.
It's may not such a bad idea to re-examine Lili & Stich with a more mature theme like social ostracism and the older sibling becoming the adult for the younger one. It's also a good idea that people add more insight into the Hawaiian culture and community.

#2 Hercules (1997)

This well-regarded Disney movie is globally accepted as being the progenitor of the superhero story. And many fans probably desirr the character to crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, becoming a Marvel superhero, like Iron Man, or Thor. Or even with the Aladdin remake, as an homage to their animated series in which the original Disney Hercules and Aladdin did meet at one point.

#3 Atlantis: The Lost Empire' (2001)

An unexpected journey followed by a young scholar travels below the surface of the world to unearth the lost city of Atlantis. However, the crew is stunned when discovering that the Atlantean civilization mysteriously still exists.
After the time of this now-cult favorite's release, the audiences were not sure who it was made for. Now, Disney should be able to make an interesting live-action re-envisioning. Still, the remake could combine the spirit of Indiana Jones with the ambition and story of James Cameron's Avatar.

#4 The Black Cauldron (1985)

The Black Cauldron revolves around the tale of a farm boy's quest to break down a mystical cauldron with the help of a princess, a bard. And their cowardly creature companion to defeat a demonic king.

This movie received many reviews that it was too scary or inappropriate for the kids. So it's worth remaking for a modern audience, both kids and adults. A recreated visuals in live-action, combine with the premise certainly ensure an exciting Dungeons & Dragons-style adventure.

#5 Treasure Planet (2002)

In Treasure Planet, troublemaker Jim Hawkins is on a journey across the stars to find planet-sized treasure. But he finds something more meaningful, his friendship with pirate John Silver.
This uncommon take on the Robert Louis Stevenson classic features a world stuck somewhere between steampunk and a technologically advanced future. Still, this is truly the kind of strange creativity that live-action remakes need.

#6 The Hunchback Of Notre Dame (1996)

The Hunchback Of Notre Dame is adapted from the same name novel by Victor Hugo. This story revolves around a malformed bell ringer who lives in the cathedral of Notre Dame, regarded as one of Disney's darkest movies. It is so surprising how much was altered from the original story while still keeping in the spirit of it.
It's not easy to remake that movie, but its thought-provoking themes and imagery would translate beautifully into live-action. And the renewed movie would be an opportunity to improve on the animated movie's weaker elements, like the gargoyle character.

#7 Brother Bear (2003)

Brother Bear is about a young man who discovers his identity by living as a bear and looking after a lost bear cub. The film has a largely unexplored world that tells the Alaskan Native culture, which makes it truly ideal for a retelling.
Although the concept of a character spending the majority of the film as an animal might become outdated, the movie could also serve to provide a refreshing perspective on the relationship between humans and nature.

#8 The Emperor's New Groove (2000)

A classic case of a movie grossly underappreciated at its release. The Emperor's New Groove was a considerably different movie than the ones Disney was famous for making at the time.
Despite all Disney movies being known for their humor, this movie is truly a pure comedy. If you are worried about remaking this in live-action will strip it of a comedic edge afforded by animation, directors like Taika Waititi have shown that it is possible to produce cartoon-like goofiness believable for a live-action film.
