10 Stars Who Were Fired By Disney

Disney is known as a multinational mass media and Entertainment conglomerate, which has become a real media powerhouse for years. Now, thanks to its subsidiaries like Marvel and Lucasfilm, Disney is definitely slaying the competition at the box office. That’s why people at Disney are also very strict and never think twice before firing an actor who broke their rules. As a result, we can see some examples of actors who were given the sack from Disney studio.

#1 Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling who is known for his roles in award-winning films such as The Notebook (2004), and La La Land (2016),  was once a part of the Disney world when he starred alongside Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake as a Mouseketeer. In the 2008 Telegraph interview, the actor revealed that the then 12-year-old actor used to have a big attitude which got him fired from Disney.
He added that the studio believed he wasn't Disney material because he was educating the other tween Mouseketeer about more... mature topics.

#2 Megan Mullally

In 2004 The Wayne Brady Show, Megan Mullaly told that she was invited to voice an unknown role in Finding Nemo. According to the actress, the role finally didn't work out because Mullally refused to assume the same high-pitched voice she use in Will and Grace for the character.

#3 Terrence Howard

Terrence Howard portrayed the role of Rhodes/War Machine, the good friend of Tony Stark, in the first flick of Iron Man and was replaced by Don Cheadle in the second Iron Man movie. In an episode of Watch What Happens, the actor claimed that he was given the sack due to a pay dispute as a fan raised a question about why he wasn't in the Iron Man 2.
"This is gonna get me in a lot of trouble. It turns out that the person I helped become Iron Man, when it was time to re-up for the second one, took the money that was gonna go to me and pushed me out," Terrence later said.

#4 Harlan Ellison

Harlan Ellison, who is a well-known sci-fi writer with Star Trek and The Man From U.N.C.L.E,  got fired by Disney at the beginning of his career. Because Roy O. Disney overheard him in the studio commissary joking that the company should “do a Disney porn flick.”

#5 James Gunn

The director of Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad was let go by Disney in 2018  for his resurfaced offensive media posts. Thanks to much support from other celebrities and over 400,000 signatures of fans, he was reinstated as the writer-director of Guardian of the Galaxy 3.

#6 Jake Paul

Youtube star and boxer, Jake Paul, starred in the Disney+ show Bizaardvark from 2016 to 2018, when he didn't appear in the 3rd season of the series.
"They basically called me and were like, ‘Yo, what’s going on, what’s going on?’ And I just explained the situation, and they were like, ‘OK. We want to expedite this process of weaning you off the show.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s fine. But it’s going to look like you guys fired me.’ And they were like, ‘We can say that we mutually parted ways and blah, blah, blah.’ And that’s the reality of the story," he said to The Hollywood Reporter.

Disney terminated its contract with another Youtube star, Felix Kjellberg (aka PewDiePie), which followed antisemitic remarks. Maker Studios claimed their parting of ways:
“Although Felix has created a following by being provocative and irreverent, he clearly went too far in this case and the resulting videos are inappropriate. Maker Studios has decided to end our affiliation with him going forward.”

#8 Mitchel Musso

Mitchel Musso is known for his role as Oliver in the iconic Disney series, Hanna Montana. The actor was also the voice of Jeremy Johnson on Phineas and Ferb and then worked on Pair of Kings.
According to TMZ, Musso was forced to leave Pair of Kings after being arrested for a DUI.

Steve Whitmire is famous for the iconic voice behind "Kermit the Frog" for almost 30 years. In 2017, he was replaced by Matt Vogel.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Whitmire revealed that Disney let him go over unwanted notes during the short-lived Muppets reboot on ABC" and a "union disagreement."

#10 Roseanne Barr

Nineties sitcom star Roseanne Barr was fired by Disney after she made a blatantly racist comment via Twitter about President Barack Obama's former advisor Valerie Jarrett.
"It seemed completely insensitive, completely disrespectful. It was very clear. The decision, it was easy to make," Disney's CEO later revealed to Oprah Winfrey.
