Meet Aoife, The Feisty Paralyzed Cat Who Goes Viral On Internet For Fearless Spirit

Animals born with birth defects are vulnerable and need special care. Therefore, they are often sent to shelters and stay there for a long time until a kind person appears and gives them a forever home.
Aoife was such a cat with innate deformity, but luckily, she was adopted by 2 warmhearted humans, Sabrina and James, who fell in love with the feline’s cuteness at first sight. Here is brave paralyzed cat Aoife.

Sabrina and James found Aoife on Instagram when she was a baby, and they couldn’t help but adopt the adorable kitty. Aoife had a curved spine and suffered from severe hip dysplasia, so her hind limbs were paralyzed. Because of her health condition, she was incontinent and had to use the diaper.

The adopters had spent 2 months with Aoifer’s foster mother to get accustomed to caring for the disabled feline. They had to manually remove the cat’s bladder and bowel twice daily.

Despite the deformity, the kitten thrived under the gentle hands and unconditional love of her owners. Currently, 2-year-old Aoife is living in LA with her beloved owners and 5 adorable siblings, Pebbles, Kevin, Sofia, Ellie Mae, and Peter.

The owners shared that Aoife loves eating the most. “Zoomies are 2nd. Cuddling with mama is 3rd. She’s a bit of a bully at times, but all the cats get along with each other.”

Sabrina has posted many photos and videos of Aoife’s life on social media, and she couldn’t imagine that her baby would become a viral sensation.

There are over 60k users following Aoife on Instagram. The owners thought the cat’s strong spirit was what attracted her followers.
“Her followers are very vocal about how much they love her story, but it wasn’t until her first reel hit 1 million views that we realized we had a little star,” Sabrina shared. “She’s stubborn, feisty, fearless, and incredibly strong, which makes for hilarious and inspirational videos. We had no idea she would have this much attention though.”

“Being Aoife’s mom is an honor and pure joy,” Sabrina said. She admitted that seeing her little cat grow up day by day despite all the adversities inspired her and her partner to be kinder and better.
