9 Movie Fails Messed Up The Story Timeline That Make Viewers So Confused

Before making a movie, a lot of planning and forecasting goes into the production, right from the first shot to the final cut. The depth and breadth of things that could go wrong between these two points are immense. Despite it, some movies avoided total on-set implosion and actually ended up with spectacular results.
Even the most successful movies indeed have at least one (or more) notable error. Even directors who are known for their strict attention to detail are sometimes bound to mess up during movie production. Obviously, it's a part of filmmaking, and eagle-eye fans can spot mistakes and continuity errors.

#2 Public Enemies, time increases when zooming in on the pocketwatch

In a scene where John Dillinger, who was played by Johnny Depp, takes a pocket watch and opens it, the clock reads around 6:02. However, when the camera zooms in, it’s 6:30.

#3 Snape’s extra years in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and beyond

According to the novel, Snape is the same age as Harry Potter’s parents. In his first appearance, he must have been around 30 years old but he looked much older in the films. Moreover, he also looks exactly the same in the first and the last installment.

#4 Phoebe’s express pregnancy on Friends

If you’re a fan of “Friends”, you remember that Phoebe learns she is pregnant during the 4th season after accepting to be the surrogate mother to her brother Frank Jr. and his wife’s babies. At that time, Ross starts dating Emily, and Phoebe’s belly was growing.
It is weird that Ross said before Phoebe gave birth to the triplets that his relationship with Emily lasted 72 days. In that timeframe, they did a lot, from getting married to having a quarrel and breaking up at the same time Phoebe gave birth. It means that she was only pregnant for 10 weeks.

#5 The Vampire Diaries and the cemetery that arose before civilization

In the first chapter, Nina goes to the cemetery which was founded in 1792. However, a few chapters later, another sign appears, saying that the town was founded in 1860. It is wondering that the cemetery was built before the city.

#6 Back to the Future actually did travel to the future

Marty travels back in time to 1955, when his parents meet and kiss for the first time at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. In a scene, when he replaces a guitarist to play, his guitar is Gibson ES-345, which was released only in 1958.

#7 The traveler from the future in Modern Family

In a scene when Gloria and Jay celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, we can see their adopted daughter, Lily. However, the girl looks about 12 or 13 years old while she should be between 9 and 10 years old.

#8 Vampires that grow older in Twilight

It is said that vampires do not age because time freezes for them from the moment they are bitten. Dr. Carlisle and Esme were 23 and 26 respectively when they became vampires. But, neither in the first nor the penultimate film of the sage they look older.

#9 Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the mystery of years gone by

In episode 20 of season one, Scully says to his buddy that he has never been on a diet but took pills to control his weight. At that point, he was in a flashback to the 1970s and looks much the same as he does today.
In episode two of season six, it is so strange that the two have a flashback to a case from the 1980s and they looked much younger than they are in the 70s memory.
