In the Entertainment business, age is often a taboo topic. People's attitudes on aging vary widely; after turning 30, some refuse to admit it, while others see age as merely a number (you're only as old as you feel). However, it's not quite that easy for celebrities, particularly women. Your age may be the deciding factor in whether or not you land the starring part.
The number of celebrities lie about their age, either to appear younger than they are or to be old enough to be considered for a job, is shockingly high, and it spans both sexes. Find out which prominent celebrities have lied about their age or birth year below.

1. Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis, now 37 years old, tried out for the lead role of Jackie Burkhart on That '70s Show when she was just 14 years old. And so she lied. "I lied and said I was a bit older than they were... Sandra Bullock, 56 years old, has joined the ranks of other actresses who have lied about their age to further their careers. She said she had no intention of lying about her age but had seen the potential benefits of doing so.

During yet another controversy, Nicki Minaj's age fake was discovered. The rapper (now 38) claimed to have been born in 1984, but she got into a brawl in 2011 that put that lie to rest. An incident report obtained by Jezebel claims that she was born in 1982, making her two years older than she had previously told her audience.

Until a high school friend revealed her true age to Australia's Women's Day magazine in 2018, admirers of the Pitch Perfect star assumed that Rebel Wilson was just 28 years old.
The now 41-year-old actor claimed it was "a bit upsetting" to be called out by the press for doing something that "most rational business-minded individuals would have done in my situation." Actors have what's known as a "playing range;" in my opinion, it's not helpful to have your actual age listed.

Even though Jennifer Lopez, 51, appears much younger than her age, she may have been trying to erase a few years from her appearance in the past. While it appears that Lopez's true birthdate is July 24, 1969, certain media sites continue to mistakenly state that she was born on July 24, 1970.

In a 1986 interview with The Washington Post, Whoopi Goldberg said that she had lied about her age to acquire parts, saying that people assumed she was 35 when she was just 30. She said she had lied about her age to secure certain employment opportunities.
