"You're A Childless Man Child": Coworker Bombards This Guy With Text Messages As He Refuses To Cover Her Shift
Humans are complicated, or troublesome, to be more accurate. People sometimes put themselves in difficult situations. They do it themselves, but when things go too far, they blame others for their mistakes. Of course, no one is happy to pick up after someone else. Oh, maybe there are, they're your parents. But in most cases, if you mess things up all by yourself, accept the consequences as a lesson for negligence.
People, in general, are not willing to accept their fault, no matter how obvious it is. We tend to blame others and go off if someone calls it out on us. Isn't it ridiculous? Still, it happens everywhere, every day. A case in point is this guy on Reddit who got involved in a work drama while he didn't even do anything.
OP, the Original Poster, also known as u/MayITakeYourGoat on Reddit, turned to the Am I The A-Hole community to settle an issue he had with some of his coworkers. He works in retail. And one morning, he received a text message from the manager, calling him in to fill in for another co-worker, Brenda. It turned out that Brenda's son was going to have his 1st birthday that day, so she couldn't make it to work.
Still, it was OP's day off, so he already got plans. He replied to his boss that he couldn't come in. And well, his boss then went off on him, calling him horrible and heartless. Not just that, Brenda somehow got his number and bombarded him with text messages. What's happening? Did he do anything wrong?
Entitled people are so obnoxious that we hope to never have to deal with them. Still, we cannot avoid confronting such people in our life. Be confident in yourself, you cannot comply with these people, they know no boundaries.

#1 Working in retail is already stressful enough. And the only reason to stay is perhaps your funny co-workers. Yet, if your co-worker is this unreasonable, blaming you for their inability to participate in their son’s b-day last-minute, everything sucks
