Owning a pet is like you taking care of a baby. It is such a big responsibility. Over the years, veterinarians have suggested a list of things owners should consider while raising their pets, including a proper diet, plenty of exercise, and emotional contact. Of course, there are some more according to what pet you own (cats or dogs), and what breed they belong to. For example, if you are living with a dog, at least don't leave edibles around, otherwise, your canine will eat them.
This woman left some chocolate in a freezer, and unfortunately, her dog took an overdose of the food and got super high. While trying to figure out what happened to her dog, the woman became too worried and unwantedly paid $2000 in vet bills. That was the case of user @Elise24. After she posted her story on r/tifu, it quickly gained 22.1k upvotes and 1.5K comments.

Despite spending such a large amount of money on the vet, @Elise24 didn't get the answer she wanted to hear because the vet couldn't detect what was wrong with her dog. The results showed that her dog was completely in a normal condition. @Elise24 was suggested to take her dog home.
After several days, she finally found out the reason. Her dog ate the edibles she threw in the trash and got so high that it couldn't stand probably.

Next time, perhaps this woman will be more careful when putting some food while her dog is around. But, from her story, I believe you learn a lesson for your own: don't leave edibles, especially onions, garlic, chocolate, macadamia nuts, avocado, or raisins around your dogs.
