Cat Brings Owner Leaves As Gifts After Understanding He Doesn't Like Dead Mice And Birds It Gives Him After Every Hunt

If your cat shows you the mouse it has successfully hunted, how will you react? I know you'll be proud of your cat and the victory it has achieved. But what if your cat repeatedly shows you their hunt every day? Well, domestic felines love hunting and sharing their prey with their owners. However, owners may feel uncomfortable receiving the same gift from their pets too many times.
The situation of Ben, a cat owner, is an example of that. His feline, Baloo, brings him both dead and live critters she hunts, which sometimes scares the man. Sharing with The Dodo, he said: “She usually looked so bewildered and unhappy, which made me feel very horrible.”

There was a time Ben rejected all of his cat's cringe-worthy gifts. Thankfully, the feline was able to figure out its owner hated dead mice and birds she showed him, so she decided to find something else Ben might prefer.
“It was such a relief to not have to deal with live mice every morning. I’d take the leaf and play with it while she perched on my chest as a token of my gratitude,” he said.

After a few months, Baloo ended up showing big, nice-looking leaves which Ben definitely appreciated. It seemed that Ballo changed from gift-hunting to giving Ben something she could find in a hunt-friendly environment. It was more than Ben could ever expect.

As Ben was happier to receive the leaves, Ballo kept searching for leaves every morning and bring them to Ben. Apart from the leaves, Ballo also collected twigs. She is such a smart cat.
