Dr. Péter Pongrácz from Eötvös Loránd University Professor of Ethology said that "pspspsps" originated from  “here, pussy, pussy, pussy” used a long time ago when people wanted to call cats. Over the years, it was passed from generation to generation. In 2007, the Texan band The Light Crust Doughboys published their song "Pussy, Pussy, Pussy" telling about a girl looking for her cat, and the sound started being used widely.
