People Fleeing Ukraine Refuse To Leave Their Beloved Pets Behind, The Photos Are Heartbreaking
As Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the invasion of Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of people, mostly women and children, have fled their country in search of safety. However, for the pet owners, they have to face with an added difficulty, which is how to protect their pets from danger.

The internet was flooded with photos and videos wherein Ukrainians were seen accompanied by their pets. People are taking their pets with them as they attempt to cross border or huddle in bomb shelters and subway stations. Many photos show Ukrainians holding dogs, cats, pet carriers, and even fish tanks as they flee. Even in the most difficult times, they refuse to leave their beloved pets behind.

Luckily, many countries are doing everything they can to help Ukraine citizens and their pets. Poland, Romania and Slovakia are assuring that they can bring their pets across borders without any sort of papers for them. Many animal organizations, shelters, and volunteers are trying their best to help them get pets to safety.

Pets are beloved family members and best friends, so it's difficulty to abandon them, no matter what the circumstances might be. Many pets have safely fled the country with their humans, but not everyone is safe yet. There are still many animals in Ukraine in desperate need of food and medical care. Some heroic volunteers and shelter workers have chosen to stay behind to care for animals in need.
