Man Asks If He's Responsible For Refusing To Foster Ex's Dog And Making Her Lose It To Shelter, Reddit Tells Him To F*cking Care!

Break-up is something we avoid mentioning, but if it's the only solution, we would like to break up in peace. However, in real life, the situation is often less than ideal. Some people can't make sure that they'll completely get rid of their exes, or that they'll never enter their life again. Reddit user @celebritieseatbread has recently shared some trouble his ex caused him to deal with after 3 years of living together with three cats and one dog.
Although they shared a house together, they decided to raise their pets separately. OP (original poster) adopted three cats from the local APL, and they were all in his name. Meanwhile, his ex was responsible for her purebred Labrador retriever puppy. The dog and cats didn't get along with each other, which directly put an end to their relationship.
Two years after they broke up, the ex contacted OP for an unexpected reason. She wanted him to foster her dog while she was moving in with her new boyfriend whose apartment didn't allow pets. OP refused her request because he thought it was not his responsibility. The ex gave up after some unsuccessful attempts to persuade him.
However, several days later, she came back with another excuse. She sent the Labrador to an animal shelter where it was soon adopted by a new family. She blamed him for refusing to take care of her dog, resulting in her yielding it to the shelter and losing it immediately. Read the full post here.

In response, Redditors claimed that OP did nothing wrong in this situation. They pointed out something definitely wrong with his ex's mindset. From the beginning, there was no reason for people to support her.

OP was under no obligation to help out because they broke up. If the ex really needed help, she should have asked her family and friends instead.

When she surrendered a dog to a shelter, she should have known that it meant she gave up and probably got ready to see it get adopted by someone else.

Some netizens even suggested OP to block her.

What do you think of the problem? If you have any advice for OP, please let him know in the comment.
